Went into the season with relatively low expectations for UF standards. Predicted 8-4.

Instead, defense rose up and played better than anyone expected, and carried the team to an 11-1 regular season record.

A few less turnovers against UGA, and who knows? But it is what it is.

Tonight was really depressing. Really thought Driskel would show something that could give us a belief that the passing game would be a ton better for 2013.

Didn't happen. This loss really shits on everything that UF accomplished this season. UF still has high hopes for next year, likely will start top 10 in the preseason, but I don't think they are a National Championship contender.

Still another year away IMO.

What does the rant think?

A really successful season IMO, compared to what I expected of them. The physical beatdown of LSU was impressive.

I think all of us have been a benefactor of what was a down year in the sec. Next year we won't be so fortunate. Florida is a better team with a Bad offense. I don't know if Muschamp can get you there but that has been my impression of him since he started.

Playing Georgia, South Carolina, LSU and A&M sure is a piece of cake

Way ahead of schedule no doubt but...the O, much like LSU, finished the season poorly and does not bode well for 2013 without significant change. But in the 2012 picture, an 11-2 finish is tremendous. Congrats to Boom&Co.

Well...on the bright side, Bama's won 2/3 national titles and going for 3/4 after losing to Utah.

The fact that Meyer shat the bed on recruiting WR's in his last 2 years, and the fact that Muschamp hasn't gotten a high profile WR hurts badly.

Plus, Driskel was overrated as frick coming out of high school.

A&M different at end of season vs. beginning... no question.
LSU was a nice win but we now see they have a fairly inept offense.
South Carolina was nice except they essentially gave the game away with turnovers (many in their own territory)... reminds me of... oh yeah, UF in the UGA game.
Very overrated but also largely exceeded expectations so nothing to be upset about. Just have to hope tonight was an aberration and not a sign of how Boom will develop the team in the future.

A solid performance against OU and you'd have to say they will be as much as a favorite for ATL as UA next year.

An 11-1 regular season is good no matter how you get there; good teams find ways to win close games, and UF did that a lot with Georgia being the exception. They were better than I thought they would be.

Y'all bout got embarrassed by Mizzou in the Swamp. You're fortunate that you intercepted that pass in the end zone.

Whew, that woulda been an awful loss. Praise the Lord!

Meh, we could barely move the ball against a Big East team tonight...

Overachieved big time. In hindsight, having a young secondary is probably a really big weakness going into a bowl game. That Florida team has some good defensive talent but needs help on offense going forward. Good season, getting to the Sugar Bowl shouldn't have been the letdown it apparently was though.

11-2 isn't bad for having zero offense. We need some OL help and some WRs and RBs. Muschamp's taking care of that. He recruits like a champ.

He's still learning how to coach though. This loss will teach him not to get cute with the playcalling in the future.
