Yeah, just wishful thinking on my part.

I would make fun of the Gators, but it's not like LSU's offense has been that much better. We may have had better rushing attacks the past 10 years or so, but our QB play has been just as bad as theirs.

Simply put. We have put two risky coaching hires. Mac was less risky than Muschamp, but still. There is strong upside in up and comer, also strong risk.

Florida has more money and in a better conference than FSU. So the recruiting should be on point, as Zook, Meyer, and Muschamp proved. So Mac has no excuse in that regard. Jimbo is simply a better recruiter.

As for offense. A lot have been on OC's. Addazio was far too power run which was not what we recruited. Muschamp struggled to land playmakers on that side, and under recruited Oline.

Mac has had one major issue. Stubborness with QB's(these dumb competitions and pushing Grier out), and Nuss. Nuss sucks. I would legitimately argue Nuss is the worst OC in the FBS. Four straight years with 112+ ranked offenses. With far more talent than most coaches have. People want to blame the line, but it's not on them. Michigan knew what play was being called, and overloaded the run every single time. You can't block nine guys with six. Simple as that.
