Florida hasn't averaged 400+ yards of offense since 2009

This offensive slump has been going on for almost a decade. I find it amazing that with the talent Florida brings in every year, they haven't been competent on the offensive side of the ball since the 2010 Sugar Bowl (Tim Tebow's last game).

Not that an LSU fan should opine on lack of QB skill, but it is surprising to me how much Florida has fallen off since Tebow.

Maybe the Spurrier/Meyer years were an anomaly for what is just a mediocre program.

With most teams, you can have an offense or a defense. Choose which you'd prefer.

Every year, maybe five will be able to field both.

Those don't always get in the playoff.

In all seriousness, I can't comprehend how the program of Spurrier and Meyer hasn't been able to field even a semblance of a decent offense for the better part of a decade.

Neither can anyone else, and it's not for a lack of talent. Both Muschamp and Mac have tried to fit a square peg into a round hole when it comes to offensive scheme.

I'm a Gator fan...that's never gonna change...but there are some serious disconnects in our football program.

From an outsider's standpoint, it feels like the intimidating kill shot factor is completely gone. When you played Spurrier or Meyer, you knew you were probably going to get out-coached and that they were going to hang 50 on you if you gave them one tiny window of opportunity. That's just not there anymore.

An example would be last year when we played Florida the week after we got absolutely throttled by Auburn. Despite coming off a stomping, most of us thought we had a good chance of beating the Gators, and that game ended up not even being close. It just felt weird to play Florida and not be that worried.

One of the biggest mistakes was trying to change offensive direction when Meyer left. We need to be running an offense that spreads the defense out and gives our skill position players the opportunity to utilize their speed and athleticism. Have to run an offense that fits the roster, we've been squandering talent at the skill position now for 7 years.

By far the worst gameplan ive seen in a long time.. Arky gave up a ton of rushing yards the week prior and we come out throwing? With an unproven QB

Are you talking about Florida or LSU under Miles?

We feel your pain

I was thinking the same the same thing. We gave up 500 (!!!) rushing yards to Auburn, and McElwain's game plan had you guys throwing with Luke Del Rio under center. First offensive play for Florida was a pick 6, and it was downhill for the Gators from there.

I've seen zero innovation in this offense since Meyer/Mullen left. They just line up and run the play. They don't look to the sidelines to change up, they don't ever run hurry up, they don't audible into an advantage, they just run whatever they decide ahead of time. There's no motion presnap, no misdirection, nothing to stop a pass rush, like screens, quick slants and outs, etc. It looks like Muschamp has learned and opening up the offense at SC. Sharkfricker still hasn't figured it out.

I don’t think he would do that. Would kinda be fricked up. He doesn’t wanna piss his alma mater off.
