My point is why is UGA the more deserving team if the system wasn't constrained to two teams per conference? What about going 1-2 against ranked teams is so impressive that UGA fans feel entitled to this hypothetical scenario?

I am basing my opinion on the belief that when the BCS standings come out we will be the third highest ranked SEC team.

Fair enough. It's still completely arbitrary and irrelevant that UGA is the more deserving of a third spot from an opinion standpoint.
