Spurrier
Tebow
Wuerffel

Most unsung and humble gator there is.
Did more for all athletics this century than anybody else IMHO.
Had him as a renal physioloy professor.

Only if he goes back to Canton this year and actually mentions UF in his HOF speech.

If that is the criteria then Foley and Donovan would probably be right up there next to Spurrier.

SEC Championships
Wuerffel: 3 (4 rings total)
Tebow: 1 (2 rings)
Spurrier: 0 (6 rings as a coach)

Cannot vote or have any say-so because I am not a Florida fan, but if I were, and were I allowed to vote, it would have to be for Spurrier.
Hell, he still talks fondly about the Gators every chance he gets - says he is a Gator and will always be a Gator.
Named the Swamp.
First Heisman
First MNC
Crazy thing is, at the rate he is going, he may surpass Georgia Rogers as the greatest Gamecock of all time in the eyes of some Gamecock fans. Eight Grandkids now, who were born in Colatown - he's spreading the wealth, that's for sure.

+1 and he did it both as a player and a coach

Spurrier.
Won heisman as QB.
Took a "sleeping giant", which UF was referred to as several times in the 80s, and built them into a powerhouse.
Won a NC. Numerous SEC titles.
Spurrier IS UF.
This is the correct answer.

Spurrier, then Wuerffel, then Tebow
Spurrier built it up with Wuerffel being a key piece. Tebow was great but it was more of a maintain job on his part. Now they have the angry chihuahua.

Spurrier hands down....his play at qb in the mid sixties put the Gators on the college football map and then he won the Heisman...coached a Heisman winner and won a MNC and most importantly, turned UF around in 1990 and made UGA our household pet. He bleeds O&B.

As a player-Tebow
Overall-Spurrier.

Wuerffel,
Anyone that goes into the Desire Projects and starts a ministry for those people is truly special. Not the premise of the question but he's everything Tebow claims to be without putting it on stage.

Also, I agree with Emmitt as a candidate because of what he did in the NFL.
