Nice win...I missed the game and had just assumed Fla. would win at home. Looks like we might have a race in the SEC

Still a nice win. I could have sworn that Brent Musberger said last night that USC had back to back road games at UF and UK, but maybe he (or me) was drunk

Not it wasn't. Arkansas still has a streak going started in 1989. 900 and some odd games now with a three pointer.

Same with UK, I think we're only a few shy of 1000. UNLV has the longest unless something they lost it and I wasn't aware.

Gamecocks went into this game with the #1 3pt D in the country ... I wonder if they'll still be #1 in 3pt D after tonight?

j/k

Good win by the way, especially considering how the game started.

This link says it was the longest
quote:

Florida went 0 of 17 from 3-point range, ending a streak of 850 consecutive games with a long-range basket that was the longest in the NCAA. The Gators last went 0-from-behind the arc in an 80-61 loss to Kentucky in 1992.

We had at least 909 in a row back in 2014. And to my knowledge that streak is still going.

Actually, on further Google box review, we broke UNLV's streak.

quote:

In the 1986-87 season the college basketball game was revolutionized via the introduction of the three point shot. Since then the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels are one of two teams to have made a three in every single game they’ve played. The Rebels declined postseason invitations this season, ending the year holding the NCAA record of 974 consecutive games with a made three pointer. The summer of 1988 was a tumultuous time for the University of Kentucky. The Emery Freight scandal had broken earlier that year. Three seniors graduated. Rex Chapman opted for the NBA draft. Eric Manual was forced out and Shawn Kemp skipped out. A completely gutted and despondent Wildcat team entered the 88-89 season with little chance of success. 11/26/1988: Kentucky faced Seton Hall in the Great Alaskan Shootout and went 0 for 2 from beyond the arc. It was the last game Kentucky had without a made three pointer. With 16 minutes to go against Stony Brook, Tyler Ulis found Derek Willis and the Mount Washington Machine drilled Kentucky’s first three pointer after the team had started the game 0-7. The bucket made it 974 consecutive games with a made three pointer.

I won't argue you, I have no proof, other than this article I linked.
I know Bama's 3 point streak is nowhere near 850. More like 8.
