Cincinnati breaks into the playoffs, and Tuberville goes to Florida.

He would have to lose 5-6 games to lose his job.

All of the sexy hires were done last year while Foley was getting 1000% behind Muschamp. This offseason may not be a good year to be looking for a HC.
Curtis Johnson. He will be in the SEC soon.
When Les does go, I think LSU has to give him a good, hard look.

Pay no attention to what Foley says. A loss to UT alone may not do it, but follow it up with losses to LSU and Mizzou and Boom doesn't even make the trip to the WLOCP. And lose to Vandy - no matter what his record is going in - and Foley won't even let him ride the bus back to the hotel after the game.
Then Zook got Croomed. And I was there.
quote:I'm willing to bet he said the above, almost word-for-word, about Zook back during the '04 season.
"That's just not how we do things here. We're going to evaluate where we're headed -- where the players are, how is recruiting going, what type of staff we have, are we better?
"That's going to be plain for all of us to see, but it's also going to be played out over the course of 11 games, and we'll see where we are when we get to the end of the season."
Then Zook got Croomed. And I was there.

I remember when our AD said this about Doolz....

This board will explode if Will is fired and Les bolts to Michigan...two bigtime* SEC schools looking for a HC at the same time.

Foley may wait till the end of the season but the fans are waiting to judge until next Saturday.

At the start of Dooley's last year many of us thought we were stuck with him for at least one more season. Then the season began and we thought we were stuck with him at least until year's end. Hart pulled the plug early and I'm grateful for it.
Even if Muschamp turns things around it just seems he's lost too much support to be UF's coach for very long. That the AD even spoke tells me boosters are through the roof mad and I wonder if he hasn't lost his team already. (A team revolt is what cost Majors his job although it wasn't because Johnny was incompetent).

Hmmm...
ESPN ran that story today, which would indicate that Foley made the comment sometime this week. I searched a few other sites and the Foley quote was apparently from an interview with the Orlando paper after the Eastern Michigan game. They haven't looked too good since Foley made the comment.

Foley didn't come out and speak. He answered a question during an interview. What do people expect him to say during an interview when asked that particular question. It's so stupid to even ask that question. AD's aren't in the business of tipping their hands.

Thanks for the clarification but I will say that early on that's usually how it goes. A question is asked and the AD answers. Honestly, even though I feel Muschamp is a dead man walking the Bama game shouldn't have spawned the criticism it did but I suppose it ripped off a scab and exposed a wound that was still there for UF fans.
Regardless of what happens I want to see our rivalry renewed again. Of course, I want to be on top of it with a 20+ game streak but I really do miss the high energy and really incredible football we had the privilege of watching - even with UF owning so many W's it's not as though those weren't great games for fans. I miss the fire and feel the series/rivalry is dying a slow death and the teams and coaches that built it deserve better than to see it all just wither away. JMO.

It hasn't been the same without Fulmer and Spurrier.

I think he did a little. Anything short of a full vote of confidence is he gone.

Now watch a QB change happen and Florida end up winning the East.

Totally agree. They were two Tennessee boys with opposite personalities and played well off each other. They really built that rivalry from scratch, imo. And they did it on their own. I just hope it can somehow be re-sparked.

What SEC coach could be lured away? Freeze would be an interesting candidate.

I thought it was backdoor dealing by Fulmer.
