Best teams I've seen in the last 20 years:

1. '91 Washington - Most dominating, balanced offense led by two, legitimate NFL quarterbacks, ridiculous backfield, receivers, and offensive line. Defense basically camped out in every opposing team's backfield. Accumulated over 120 tackles for loss on the season. Very, very well-coached and hungry.

2. '01 Miami - Very good offense with a great, once-per-decade type of defense. May be the fastest defense ever assembled. Questionable coaching, but very hungry.

3. '95 Nebraska - A legendary, bulldozing offense with a great offensive line. Fantastic leadership at the quarterback position, but no vertical passing game. Defense was very aggressive, confident, and disruptive. Would have been vulnerable to a great passing team with great offensive line ('91 Washington and '01 Miami). Very well-coached on both sides of ball.

4. '93 Florida State - Extraordinarily well-led at the quarterback position with talented supporting cast. Lightning-fast defense great against the run and pass. NFL talent all over the field. Well-coached. Would have been a handful for any of the above three teams.

5. '04 Southern California - Great offensive weapons mixed with quick, mobile line allowed for dynamic, balanced offense. The defense was strong at nearly every position - quick, aggressive scheme, and tough against both the run and pass. Would have been better than their '05 team against the run, but still vulnerable to the above, running teams.

6. '96 Florida - Dynamic, dominating aerial offense when offensive line intact. Spread field vertically better than the above five teams, but challenged running the ball when needed. Very good defense. This was a powerful team when healthy, but would have been vulnerable to any team capable of dominating on the offensive line ('91 Washington, '01 Miami, '95 Nebraska). Well-coached.

7. '92 Alabama - A good, throw-back type of offense capably led at the quarterback position. The defense was legendary in it's aggression, stoutness, and ability to disrupt opposing offenses behind the line of scrimmage. Fantastically coached and cohesive. May have been vulnerable to a balanced attack with great running game (most of the above teams).

As for '09 Florida, I won't slot them into this list because nobody knows what will happen. Half the team may end up injured or they may prove to be vulnerable to distractions with the media circus covering their every move. On the other hand, I do thinking, assuming no drop-off in focus and accounting for the normal, year-to-year progress of maturing players, that this Florida team will end up in the top-5 of this list.
