I was in NOLA for the Sugar Bowl. The consensus amongst the fans was LSU was in better shape than Bama, but Saban would have Bama back in 3-4 years & eventually coach circles around Les.

Bama was back in year 2.

The links have plenty of magic. And they're so easy to find.

LSixU is so easy.

21 SEC titles means nothing in the new millenium. I've said it 100 times. I'll say it again. Bama ain't LSU.

Very poor choice of words.

So let me get this straight: you took a screenshot of the front page of TD one week before Saban even accepted the Bama job, just so that if he did take the job, and he did, let's say, win four out of seven NCs while emasculating LSU along the way, you could post said screenshot ten years later for the sole purpose of trolling?

God damn, man. I respect the frick out of you.

It's what Gumps do. Build little shrines to their team. Nothing really surprising about it at all. Congrats.

Nick Saban can't hold Les Miles jock.

LMFAO @ this guy. Swear to God, he'll be gone no later than Game 10 for Bama next year, probably sooner after they lose 3+ leading up to game 10.

quote:

Unlike Saban, Miles can attract and keep great assistant coaches.

In Crowton's first year, we surpassed all of Fisher's high marks!

Our offensive line's performance was spectacular last year!

This year, the transition from Pelini to a duel defensive coordinator setup will be interesting to see.

With Miles, the turnover of assistant coaches is much less, and performance team wise has been much more stable.?

quote:

Miles is better than Saban. He'll prove it this
year, once and for all.

------------------------------------------------

I know both, and have met them both SEVERAL times.

Miles is a better planner.
Saban runs a cioncentration camp.
Miles also half the defensive coach Saban is.
Miles has better assistants.

To make up for some inadequatcies, Miles will
surrounds himself with talent (Pellini, Crowton,
we'll see this year) and arms himself with perhaps the best special teams coach in the country.

Saban hires OCs like Bobby Williams, and then pretends he knows offense and special teams.

He can't get away with that anymore.

Bottom line, pearly whites and a public relations
broadcasting coach doesn't make a coach. There is a reason why Saban averages almost 4 losses a year. Ther's a reason why Miles averages 2 losses a year.

Miles talks like Lombardi, Chuck Knoll, and Bill Belicheck, while Saban talks like Pete Carroll
with the flash PRETENDING to be Lombardi or Noll.

quote:

The bama return is simply not going to happen, guys. Taking the bama job was the worst mistake in Nick Saban's life. As bad as he was at Miami, this job may cost him his career. Bama won't be happy with an occasional 10 win season, and at best, that's all they are going to get over the next half decade.

Considering it was almost solely LSU fans at the time, do you expect anything different? Seriously? Look at the icons and screen names. Let it sink in.

The post accurately described LSU overall , and LSU and Albama's relationship 09-11. Say what you want , but LSU beat Alabama in 10 and 11. They were a blown interception call away from beating them in 09 and lost in OT in 08. What the poster DID NOT anticipate was that LSU would have to start two Freshmen QBs in 08 and a true soph more in 09, instead of R Perrilloux (The 07 SEC Champ Game MVP). His loss and Pellini's killed the 08 season and slowed the progress of 09. Remember , despite how bad JJ played as a QB, he beat Alabama two years in a row and almost 3.

I do fault the poster for not thinking it through further. As hard headed as Saban is, we saw him change the offense mid season in 01. Saban continued to evolve as he aged. Miles never changed and grew more conservative with old age.
