05 Florida is still the loudest game I've been to. 09 UT at the end may be the loudest moment, but I was afraid the upper deck was going to collapse when Prothro's punt return was called back.

Havent read the whole thread, but I went a few years ago and sat in the Alabama section because they were my buddy's tickets, who gave them to me. He warned me about this one guy and told us to try to ignore him. Well we got there and kept to ourselves trying to watch the game. This 40 year old guy was the most rude person i've ever met. Everytime Bama scored he would turn to us and say "yeah you like that? you wont be able to stop it." I vowed to never go back. Most rude fan base ever. Auburn fan base is 100x better.

Really if you think about it, all of the 100,000+ stadiums are really not known for being the loudest in America. It's kinda weird.

Not to hijack, I really do think Tiger Stadium will be one of the exceptions here. Bowling in the SEZ will just trap sound there that otherwise would go out.

I will ad to the thread that Tide fans -can- be very polite and considerate if they don't believe your team is a threat. Which I'm not sure they do regarding Ole Miss.

Noise...I'm going to chime in with some others and say the pom poms negatively affect the noise level. Not flaming, being serious here. Most Tide fans don't make a lot of noise when they are shaking those things.

It was like someone popped a balloon that bled all the emotion out of that stadium when they ran that fake punt.

No lie.

Tuscaloosa is a blast for LSU games. Big crowds tailgating, loud and active stadium, normal amount of a-hole students and sidewalk fans (no more or less than anywhere else).

I've also been to games against smaller schools (Duke, Kentucky, a few more I can't remember) and campus and the stadium was dead, at least compared to what I am used to for the LSU game.

I imagine the game this weekend will be somewhere in the middle. You'll have a good time either way.

eta:
2011 LSU/Bama game was probably the loudest game I've been to. I was 9 rows from the field and it was deafening. 2007 LSU/UF might have been louder, as it compared and I was higher up, but BDS gets loud as frick when it has to.

Thanks for the advice, Alabama fans. It's a real shame that so many of the LSU and Auburn types had to come class this thread down.

I look forward to the trip. Hope to have a beer in the quad with some of you.

Expect to have a great time walking and conversing with Bama fans all over campus. You will be treated with hospitality before and after the game. Come by my tailgate (PM me for directions) and grab a stiff bourbon and a bite to eat before kickoff.

Is this true? I've seen it referenced a lot.

That '05 UF game in BDS and the moment in the '07 LSU-AU game when LSU throws a fade to the end zone to win instead of just kicking the FG were the two loudest games I have been in the stadium for.

I don't. Bad case of the ghey for dudes to do it, but my wife and kids go ape-shiz with them. Wife will break one out sitting in front of the big screen at the crib. Must work since we are rolling on to 3 in a row. I guess it is only crazy if it doesn't work, right?

Still better than cowbells.

You seem like a rational person and your experience with one person to describe millions of people seems well-reasoned and fair.

Amen to 05 Fla game being the loudest ever at BDS.
