It's not about the "perfect" title, just about a legitimate one.
It's legit. They won it on the field. The records can be amended if the NCAA finds wrong doing (which they haven't, so no reason to think it will happen now). However, even with the records altered, everybody will still remember Auburn as the 2010 champion. Just like how USC is still the "on the field champion" for the 2004 season, even though that year has no champion per the record books.

You should care because AU doesn't receive the national recognition and respect associated with winning a MNC.
They do have national recognition with the AP/Coaches/BCS Trophies. Only pussy insecure people worry about what other people think.

Given the NCAA's recent track record, I'm not sure how much weight people give their inaction or absence of findings.
Pawl touched on this in the linked interview. Described the NCAA's efforts in the Cam investigation as an "epic fail."

If the shite continues to hit the fan, it will be interesting to see how the college football hall of fame coming to Atlanta represents the 2010 title.

You just lost all credibility there
The fact that you used PF to make any legitimate point

I guess the salient point is that I don't want the type of BCS title AU earned--that which is given only nominal recognition (i.e. hardware).
It's like a pseudo-title. Yes, you see the trophy and the banners. You can feel and read the shirts. But the title doesn't elicit the type of feeling associated with most. At least that's how I'd feel.

Ok, so disgruntled fans and nowhere tangible. I can live with that.

I'm very interested in how my program performs. WHich is why i was celebrating my teams national title.

Well if this is the measuring stick we have to live up to then it's worse than i thought.

Well unfortunately we only ahve one bcs title so i can't compare it to any others...but it was fricking exhilerating to win so i'll have to defer to you on how I should have felt. how'd you react to yours?

Whether he's a troll is of no moment. He has the ear of many--he can shape and mold perception. He has influence. And not just in B-ham or the surrounding areas. He's syndicated.
Hell, he was one of the first analysts called by Bristol to discuss the matter.

No one will give a damn about the opinion of someone who has never been there. It's like that a-hole couple that criticizes parenting of others when they themselves have no kids.

Which means, they didn't find anything. Which means you can choose one of three paths:
1) Swear up and down Auburn cheated and they should have their titles stripped, trees poisoned, land salted, testicles removed, and stadium burned to the ground.
2) Take the fact that the NCAA found nothing and proclaim Auburn as clean as a virgin's honey pot, and forcefully argue with anyone who says otherwise.
3) Accept that the investigation failed to find wrongdoing, but admit that there were some holes and take everything with a grain salt. Accept that Auburn won on the field and are guilty of nothing more than any other major D1 program. Move on and let it go.
I personally choose the third option. I was in the student section for the Camback. I was disappointed, and did not want Auburn to win the BCS. They did. No biggie. Congrats on the 2010 title.

Some people just enjoy the accomplishments that they are able to achieve. They don't need validation from others to build up their own achievements. Only the weak minded need others to build up their own lore.

I'm sure it was. And if that ends the inquiry, why are you defending it against someone who doesn't understand your exuberance?

Sure doesn't seem that way--at least no based on the reactions to my posts.

Because what else is there to do(believe it or not i'm not part of the team trying to cure cancer)...flip that quesiton, why are you intent on trying to diminsih or distinguish our title?
