I'm not trying to insult anyone. I'm just saying Leach's players, especially QBs, do not have a strong track record of continuing to win without Leach.

If we're taking bets, I'd put money on Will Rogers being a highly successfull QB Coach/OC in about 10 years. And probably a HC after that.

But a good QB? Not likely. These will be his crash-and burn-without-Leach years that make him transition from playing to coaching.

Such is the path for Leach QBs. Always has been, always will be.

A&M will either win the West and contend for a playoff spot, or finish dead last in total dumpster fire mode with Jimbo and Petrino pointing fingers at each other while the program burns.

There is nothing in between.

I have no idea which is more likely in all honesty.

Y’all definitely have the talent to win it this year. If y’all don’t it is 100% on your coach

Yes State finished third with Mike Leach at the helm, Never before HC Arnett scrapped the air raid and fired Leachs staff, bringing in sunbelt bArbay to run a pro style scheme that doesn’t fit the roster

2020: Air Raid doesn’t work in the SEC
2023: State is offense will suck cause they don’t have the Air Raid.

State's problem is they are totally changing the O, that they have recruited for, and they have a guy who is learning how to be a HC.....in the SEC. I hope State has a good season, but that is a bad recipe.

2020 air raid, hey dumbarse, was that the COVID year where Leach had no spring practice, was implementing a new offense with a new team and the schedule was only sec conference games ? Yea I thought so, dumbarse
Dumbest fan base in the country.

Continue to bash Leach, Arnett and Barbay are such an upgrade, Leach just wasn’t a smart guy

MrAUTigers, that’s it in a nutshell, which is obvious to every prognosticator and oddsmaker but somehow unknowable by the dumbest fan base in college football.

Same morons who held weekly polls to fire Leach during a 9-4 season. They’ve built up some real bad karma. chickens about to roost.

GTFO of here. They are built for the Leach O and they won't be running the Leach O. I could see them finishing last.

No, we have an offense full of 3-year starters. If anyone can adapt to a new offense, it's upperclassmen returning starters.

Plus every State SEC opponent (other than LSU) has a new OC, new DC, or both, and a bunch of portal transfers. Every coach is new to a portal transfer. That's a lot of scheme changes.

State's defense will be the same, only the offense will be new. Our new OC had better ranked offenses the last two years than all of the current SEC OCs other than OM's.

State was #62 in total offense last year. It's possible, maybe likely, that State's offense will improve.

sunbelt bArbay

Sunbelt Barbay had the #26 and #23 offenses last two years. That's better than ALL of the current SEC OCs other than OM.

Petrino had the #65 offense last year. #65 in the FCS.

Will is going to get blitzed constantly, cole smith can’t replace sharp at center, it’s going to be a long season. loss of Wheat, Charlton Banks, weak pass rush, Can’t run 3-3-5 with all the safeties gone. defense returns four starters. Iffy at corner without Forbes.
Why didn’t you name all the returning starters and guys that played as much as the starters? Players like Crumedy and Pickering on the DL. The leading tacklers in the SEC are returning. Returning one starting corner. The other corner is a senior that has played a lot. The safeties that are seniors that has played a lot of snaps. You failed to mention those.

I can actually be talked into State not being great because of the changes and the division just being generally strong. It’s not the craziest thing in the world to think they go 6-6 or 7-5. But I think any predictions of 3-9 or 4-8 are way off. Joe Moorhead really sucked and he didn’t even come close to doing that.

I do think State is in for a bit of rebuild in 2024 but this group is capable of being better than they were last year. They may not live up to it, but the pieces on this roster are good if the coaching is at least competent.
