Ohio St. and Clemson aren't very close to Arozona. Just a thought

The two neutral site games in a week model of the playoffs is absolutely brutal on fans.

The Peach Bowl is in driving distance for Alabama fans and the demand is still lukewarm.

Many people gonna hold out and hope for a championship game trip.

Not to mention the conference championship game two weeks before that. Only the schools and the venue care about having fans in the stands. Every other organization cares about eyes on the TV.

Having the Semis on New Year's Eve was a terrible idea. There's too many competing entertainment options besides a football game. That can me tough sell to a wife. Especially with a potential finals game a couple weeks away.

Agreed. There was a 40% drop off in viewership when the games went from being played on new years day to new years eve.

I think they should have the semifinal games at the #1 and #2 teams home Stadium

I agree.

Both are incredibly cheap considering a few years ago bowl tickets were at least over $300.

Rose Bowl tickets are even more expensive than that and the Rose Bowl seats roughly 20,000 more than either.

Looks like the theory of "waiting until the championship" is proving true

I guess fans want to go to the championship game, if their team makes it.

Also, the games being on New Year's Eve sucks.

There is also a little bit of "big game fatigue" going on.

Alabama fans have it like no other fanbase ever have. We've had so many big neutral site games, SEC championship games, playoff games, national championship games, just many dozens of them all in a short period of time.

Ohio State and Clemson also have played in a bunch of big games in the last few years as well.

This is sort of a natural consequence of the same 3-4 teams being on top year after year.

That's the thing most folks will only be able to go to 1 of those games. A lot of people are holding out for Tampa. However, with the proximity to Bama the Dome will be majority Bama and I wouldn't be surprised if Tampa is too if we make it.

College football is down right now so this is not a surprise. I think the TV ratings for the playoffs will be down too. A lot of the bowl match ups are not very interesting this year.

But my question is, why are fiesta bowl tickets so damn cheap?

Getting to Phoenix is so so so so frickin expensive. After Clemson fans went last year for the title game, I don't blame them.

You can't fly out there booking within a month of the game for less than $800-900 a ticket. So, husband and wife, you are looking at a $2000-2500 trip.......when you probably did that less than a year before.

what about locals (relative to Glendale) that are simply college football fans? I guess they don't really have those out west.

People don't just go to games because one is happening anywhere.

Columbus, Oh is actually closer to Phoenix..a mere 1,876 miles while Clemson is 1,929 miles. Both teams played there last year. This is the 3rd year in a row OSU has played there....but yes, we will outnumber Clemson.

In the 2013 Orange Bowl vs. Clemson...it was about 55-45 Clemson.

Not true. I typically attend the bowl games in the general vicinity of where I'm at over the Christmas vacation, regardless of who's playing
