These are the cheapest tickets listed. tickets were much more expensive a couple of days ago for the peach bowl. Better get 'em now bama fans (myself included).

But my question is, why are fiesta bowl tickets so damn cheap? If I lived anywhere near there I would be snatching those babies up and going to the game, despite the fact that I'm a fan of neither team.

Most fans are going to wait to travel to the Final. I think they should have the semifinal games at the #1 and #2 teams home Stadium. But that will never happen.

Alabama is really the only team playing withing driving distance of either game. That's a pretty tall order for most people to make that trip for a semi.

How does that compare with NY6 bowls?

Because Ohio St. and Clemson are in the Midwest and east coast and the Fiesta Bowl is over 1000 miles away, meaning they have to fly. The Peach Bowl is far away for Washington fans obviously, but many Alabama fans could realistically drive to the game. I don't think the Fiesta Bowl is going to sell out, but there's no way the Peach Bowl doesn't.

Yeah, good point. but what about locals (relative to Glendale) that are simply college football fans? I guess they don't really have those out west.

The Rose Bowl's cheapest tickets available are $209. That's the only bowl with tickets more expensive than the peach bowl, that I can see.

There are cotton bowl tickets available for 6 dollars.

I think it would be a different story if an SEC team wasn't playing in the Peach Bowl. SEC fans would still probably scoop up those tickets.
College football simply isn't as popular in other parts of the country like it is in the South.

Interesting point...

Me personally, If I lived out there, I wouldn't mind going to the OSU/CLEM game just because that's a cool matchup. Depends on the ticket prices IMO.

I know in Dallas last year, I saw quite a few neutral people that just went to MSU/ALA just since it was the playoff game nearby.

If OSU didn't have a metric frick-ton of fans the prices would be even cheaper

The Rose is usually going to have the higher prices typically although (wasn't sure about ORE/FSU 2014 or IOWA/STAN last year).

I'm going to that one , why the hell not

They were on stubhub for 100+ prior to the bowls being released, but you know a lot of people weren't going to be thrilled with a WMU/WISC matchup.

I believe they have a ton just in the PHX area. Usually they get good crowds for their games in the area (02 NC, some of their other fiesta bowls too)

Especially considering Wisconsin played in Dallas last year

True good point

Off topic but, if it weren't the playoff, I wonder how many MSU/Bama fans would've made the trip to Dallas for a regular Cotton Bowl given both teams made appearances in JerryWorld within the last year prior to that game.

Are they both still Conference Champs? That'd help a bit but the upper deck would be half filled

Non-interested college football fans aren't going to fill up a stadium for a semi-final game. I think most people predicted playoffs being bad for attendance

Clemson will win the Rolaids Bowl in a landslide. Bama and UW is the game for the title.

If the game locations were reversed and I couldn't afford to fly for the fiesta, you'd better bet your arse I'd be in Atlanta on New Year's Eve for OSU/Clemson if tickets were the same price they are now ($70ish)

I'm headed to the Fiesta from North Carolina but a ton of Clemson fans just went to Phoenix last year. It's around $1500 ea just for a plane ticket from GA/SC/NC airports. For some reason Phoenix is one of the most expensive flight destinations for a major city. I expect OSU fans to outnumber us this year in Phoenix.

Atlanta would've sold out in a heartbeat if Clemson went to the Peach.

Anyway, judging from Arizona St and U of Arizona's history of success I'm guessing college football isn't the #1 form of entertainment in the area.
