All these non conference games are such a tease. I’m ready for conference play.

Good weekend of baseball ahead for a lot of teams.
LSU and Vandy in Houston to play Texas/ULL/TXST/Houston
UGA has GT all over the ATL area (3 games in 3 different venues?)
Florida @ Miami
South Carolina vs. Clemson
A&M out in Arlington to play USC/ASU from the PAC
Bama out in Frisco to play Indiana, Arizona and Dallas Baptist
Ole Miss hosts Iowa who has Brody Brecht

I love baseball, but I do find it interesting that - unlike football - the major polls don't always agree "who is better".
For example, Arkansas is higher than LSU in 2 polls but not Baseball America; Auburn is higher than Alabama - as much as 8 spots in one - in 2 polls, but in the other Alabama is 7 spots higher than Auburn. Baseball America has A&M as low as 11th but Perfect Game has them as high as 4th.
I get that the season is still new and a lot will change, but it's still fascinating to see that there's not nearly as much "cross-poll" bias.

They sure do love us.
Our pitching staff may very well be the best in the nation. We have so many arms it's absurd.
Our hitting, currently, is one of the worst in the SEC.

Been there and that is frustrating. Hopefully, the bats will wake up before conference play. It's still early.

We also play in 3 different venues. One home, one away, one neutral (though the neutral is at the fireflies stadium in cola)

It's too bad they're not a little better. ASU can score, but can't pitch or field. USC just isn't that good. TCU will be there too, but we won't face them. Something about ASU & USC didn't want to place OOC when they have a weekend series coming up.

9 teams from the Carolinas in the D1Baseball rankings. Absolutely stacked region.

Play at Tech Friday, in Athens Saturday, finish up at neutral site on Sunday.
Used to be we would play home-home-neutral over the course of the season but finally adopted the Clemson-USC model a couple years ago.

Baseball polls also aren’t typically aggregated via votes until later in the year, so you get a bunch of polls super susceptible to confirmation bias because they’re determined by a small group of guys based on how they feel teams stack up with limited sample size and preconceived notions they’re wanting to validate.
As always, none of it matters until mid-April when you can better assess health, trajectory, strength/weakness, and - most important of all - who is heating up at the right time

Yep. One game @ Tech in Atlanta, then @ UGA in Athens, then Sunday at the midway point between the two in Lawrenceville.
I think it is kind of cool, the only thing that I do not understand is why it is Atlanta -> Athens -> Lawrenceville. Why not Atlanta -> Lawrenceville -> Athens or Athens -> Lawrenceville -> Atlanta? Seems to make more sense to me.

I believe we rotate the Friday/Saturday locations each year. Either way, not like either team is going to be staying in a hotel before those games

Always thought it’d be cool if they ended that series at the River Dogs stadium in Charleston. I get why they probably dont (excess traveling when it’s just not necessary) but it’d be cool.
Cool as the Bananas are in SAV we don’t really have a good minor league stadium on the coast to head to week before SB

I believe that’s in the works. Was part the big picture Schlossnagle plan.
