So we get Vandy in the first round of the scholars bowl?
Posted on 10/29/14 at 1:48 pm to Lebowski
Maybe we should do what North Carolina did

I've always been curious how that statistic is calculated. If a player leaves early for the draft, does it hurt your percentage?

You know things are getting bad for Vandy when even their graduation rate is in decline.
Posted on 10/29/14 at 1:49 pm to Lebowski
is this adjusted for those who leave early for the draft?

Some of you ought to be ashamed to embarrass the great SEC like that.

I think this can be traced back to Nutt..... I hope

Usually, GSR (graduation success rates) are calculated from classes which graduated a long while ago. I think the latest they've done is 2007, so I honestly wouldn't doubt if these numbers were true.
However, Hugh has done a much better job of getting our kids through now.

It was calculated independently using 4 years of data, ending with the 2011-2012 season I think.
Edit
Nope the one I saw has a few differences than that of the OP's.

Well then it definitely makes sense. Half of Nutt's recruiting classes were gone within a year

School is for fools. That is an indisputable fact.

University of Mississippi has the second weakest academics in the Conference, and they STILL cannot graduate anyone?
By comparison, Vandy and TAMU have the two highest academic rankings, and respectable ranks of third and sixth on graduating football players (who are not necessarily the scholars on campus).
One could argue that Florida is actually doing the best job. Their academics are third-best in the Conference, and they still manage to lead the SEC on graduation rates for football players.
edit: Academic rankings taken from here. 2012 data.
