Holy shite, will you stop bitching about the changes with and around Commonwealth. Alumni Drive is much improved and makes the flow of traffice much better and safer.
There will be plenty of spaces for tailgaiting and the Stadium looks awesome.

UK is the only away game I have been to where the fans trashed our tailgate while we were at the game. And we weren't talking trash beforehand.
Expect to hear stories about Tim Couch.

My point was why not make it 2 lanes instead of 1 if you are spending all that money. A four lane connector between Nicholasville Road and Tates Creek would be nice on normal traffic days much less game days. Roundabouts are intended to slow traffic not speed it up and they put 2 in that new Alumni Drive. What other stadiums in the country have roundabouts?
Because low speeds are required for traffic entering roundabouts, they are physically designed to slow traffic entering the junction to improve safety, so that the roads typically approach the junction radially; whereas rotaries are frequently designed to try to increase speeds, and thus have roads that enter the traffic circle tangentially.
I know you can walk to the stadium so it is no big deal but for the folks that get stuck in the traffic it sucks.

Sorry about the crappy experience. You left with a win though so that's good.

Can't put in 4 lanes with the arboretum and the new football practice facility. Plus the federal government regulated with the new drainage system (FEMA) with the McConnell Spring Creek redesigned to its original path. All those factors played into the new design of Alumni Drive.
Alumni Drive was a cluster (esp. during the week with student and hospital employee parking traffic. There was always accidents around the stadium and arboretum enterances. With the roundabouts, it will make it much safer and allow the flow of traffic smoother during the week.
If you think it is a bitch to get out of Commonwealth after a game, I suggest you experience what it is like after a LSU, UT, UF, and UGA games...talk about a cluster.
Oh, you are welcomed to park in my hood, maybe a short walk behind Central Baptist to the Stadium would do you good...plus, you can hop in your car and easily get on Nicholasville Rd flow out to get home. End of my rant with you.

I missed that part.
Sounds like you are on the Shady side, I thought you were over by the Cliff where folks cut through the back. I do miss the grass where the Orange was and I guess it is just frustrating getting a new routine.
I agree tho, no need to rant here.
Time for football to get underway

All good. We still have a good visit. Even years ago I thought UK had a nice stadium for its program.

Greer would love to buy the guy out...doze it down and replace it with a Cheddars. Southland is coming along with Hampton Inn, etc.

WildcatMike, I have rooms at the University Inn for the Thursday night game. Is it a fairly decent place to stay close to the stadium?

It is ok...right across the stadium. There is a new Hampton Inn opening up less then a mile from the stadium by my house (easy walk to the stadium)... and a Home 2 Home by Hilton 1.5 miles away from the stadium (right behind Trader Joe's)...Can't go wrong with any of those spots. I suggest getting a room now...they will book up quick...I feel bad for those Tennessee fans, if they do not have a room now, forget about it, not with the high rollers flying into Keeneland for the Breeder's Cup.

I like what they are doing down by the other end. Good Food will have parking and non parking when they get done. Looking good what they did already.
Seems if Greer wanted a Cheddars that location next to Speedway and CB that keeps changing would be a good location. If Hunan goes out I would still want another asian place to go in, if not there, at least close to there.
I like the local stuff and hate to see the chains wipe them out.

If that is the place on the corner that the old Campbell House folks owned I would stay there just for the long ago history. That is the site of the old Yocum's which was rumored to do a brisk sex trade back in the 60's and 70's.

I've enjoyed my trips to Lexington. Nice town, horse farms are beautiful, bourbon places are good, many good restaurants, and several old charming towns between there and Louisville.

Yea, I mean who wouldn't want to stay in an old whore house. I may check out the Hampton Inn.

No worry, the old place was torn down years ago. The place that is there now is new and okay to stay there. The family that bought and tore down the old place and built the new one owned the Campbell House which is a nice place to stay. You are fine in either.

I know a number of people put down the trip to Lexington, but it is my favorite SEC travel location. Beautiful area, race tracks, horse farms, normally quiet (important for old folk like me).

If nothing else there's a basketball goal in every yard.
