You dumbshit OP.

No, it won't 'save the economy', but it does make sense to keep the money in state instead of playing some out of state cupcake.

Gauranteed sellout, as opposed to Troy or Tennessee State or whoever.

Not paying and OOS school hundreds of thousands to take home to whatever state it came from.

Financially, it's not a 'boom' to anyone, but it does make sound financial sense.

Not really. Why would we want to pay those shitsticks in Jonesboro any more than we pay Samford or any of the other cupcakes we play? You know that they would start whining about playing at their place, taking half the gate fees, etc. before it's all said and done. They need to stick to playing UCA and Tech...

Why doesn't MU play SLU UMKC SMS or SEMO in basketball? It's the same thing.

I normally like to troll Arky fans but I really get this.

I would be downright PISSED if A&M played UofH. All risk and no reward.

At least SMU gets us in the metroplex.

We did play Missouri St in football, was a waste of time.

I'd be in favor of playing SLU in hoops, but don't think it would happen.

A standard sale at the mall vs politicians asking residents to vote for an in-state football game to stimulate the economy.

Yeah, almost the same.

there were what 3-4 things listed on there besides the economy and it said nothing about having to 'save' anything. philanthropy and community rah rah's are two i can think off the top of my head. basically just bs to get the two teams to play. the money will go to either the children's hospital or benefit some other organization. i think the state will survive with or without the game, but maybe that's just me.

We've played SEMO in basketball several times. This year's game was really good, actually.

that's a scared and arrogant loser mentality brah.

never mind that a Houston game is guaranteed to be on Fox Sports SW at worst and likely on an ESPN network vs possibly getting stuck on PPV with a hot garbage game against a school like Lamar.

IMO the added exposure alone is well worth it.

This one-time benefit game is being advertised as an economic savior to the fine state of Arkansas. I believe an in-state football game can be found under desperation in my Econ 320 book.

I hope you're not falling for that. The ASU alums are saying that to get a game. NWA is doing damn fine in terms of Arkansas Economy. It's booming up there.

When did SMS and MU play in football?

I know they played SEMO.

The SLU game is the one that should be played every so often. The SMS game is no win for MU except in baseball.
