Agreed. They have been kind of Jekyll/Hyde in conference play. Beating Bama in 2012 put them on the conference map and then the nation took notice. Consistency within a season hasn't been there.

Their defense will not be there this season plus replacing most of their production on offense. 2015 or 2016 at the latest I expect them to compete for the West and SEC title outright.

USC though has a good shot though. Spurrier and SEC titles just go together.

USC this year has the best chance of the 4 for sure. In 2015 I expect A&M to be a legit contender for the NC. But we'll see.

I think we are all in agreement that fat Bert has the smallest chance to get there of all the expansion teams.

True. But at the same time when have Florida and Tennessee been down like this? Georgia was reeling from injuries last year until late in the season. Not taking anything away from Mizzou as their offense was very impressive, but these perennial East powers should soon return to form. You have to strike while the iron is hot as they say. Mizzou will have a shot as long as they prioritize football.

Arkansas I expect to rebound this year and put together a decent season. Around 6-6 or 7-5. Those big guys up front will keep them in games and year 3 of Bielema-ball could have them competing for the West.

What is this supposed to mean? From 2008 to 2010 Georgia had 11 losses.

USCe is a serious contender this year. Spurrier thinks so and his cockiness this off season speaks to this reality.

A&M long term: best recruiting base, in the west (a rising tide floats all boats) and CKS seems like the real deal.

Cockrocket, that is my exact point. Many UGA fans wanted richt fired after 2010 due to how poorly we'd played. A&M is discussed as world beaters but after this season their record over the past 3 years (comparing conference records only, A&M plays the softest non-conference schedule I've ever seen) will be similar to 08-10 UGA yet they are discussed as the "OMG next greatest team!!!!!!1111" while UGA is kicked as underachievers. All the while, every team in the SEC has either failed to post a winning record vs. Richt or is currently suffering through a 3 game losing streak to Richt.

We have under achieved at times, my point is simply that A&M has greatly benefitted from low expectations.

I do think A&M will be good going forward, but people have way over reacted to their first two sec seasons. They had an amazing QB and went 10-6 in the conference. They will go 4-4 in the sec this year. 10 conference losses in 3 years would
get a coach fired plenty of places.

Less than that. Zook got fired after his 8th conference loss in his 3rd year.

Spurrier can't have many more years in him. USC has the best chance in my opinion but it has to happen in the next few years. Tennessee can't stay down much longer.

People have been saying that since 2004 ... I'm sure y'all will be correct one day. Maybe. I dunno.

Sure, Zook got fired. What did he inherit? It's apples and oranges.

Sumlin inherited Manziel if you want to go down that road.

Do you want to compare the program Zook inherited with the program Sumlin inherited?

You're the one that went down that road, not me.
