I don't care about those teams, I care about THIS year's teams.

QB
UT is set
UF unproven, QB battle still going
Adv: UT

RB
UT has two very good ones
UF has Taylor who is ok but has to rely on 3-4* true fresh behind that
Adv: UT

WR
UT has a plethora of serviceable-very good WR's
UF has Robinson and who else
Adv: UT

OL
Both teams have major concerns here, though UT's players have had an extra year to gel which should give them a bit of an edge.
Adv: slight UT

DL
UT has the best DE tandem in the SEC, and decent DT's. Star DT frosh are waiting in the wings.
Other than Bullard, I don't really know who UF has on their DL, but I expect them to be decent to good.
Adv: slight UT

LB
Both teams have one stud LB (Reeves-Maybin for UT and Morrison for UF) and have talented but unproven players otherwise.
Push

DB
I'll concede this one. UT has a very good DB group with two senior studs at safety and a lockdown corner in Sutton. But UF is at least as good at safety, and VH3 and Tabor trump even what UT has at corner.
Adv: UF

Overall: both teams have good defenses but only UT looks good on offense. Thereby UT appears to be a bit better overall, and our fans think we'll win.

This is the game from a UT perspective, but I understand the UF perspective of "I'll believe it when I see it." Nobody's changing anyone's opinion, so we'll see 9/26.

It's basically the same every year since 2010. UT fans hoping that UF will actually suck badly enough that the vols can finally beat them. It's been the same since 2010.

Well, UF bottomed out the last two years, going 11-13, and UT didn't get the job done.

Can the vols best team (on paper) in many many years clip one of UF's worst teams (on paper) in the swamp?

I think it'll be close either way.

It's a great mental test for our team. If they don't care/worry about the streak, I think we win. But it just seems like every year we look fine for a while, but one play happens that makes everyone think "here we go again." Last year we were looking alright till a costly fumble by Worley at the end of the 3rd. Even up 9-0, I (and MANY other UT fans) knew without a doubt we would lose the game the instant that happened. This year I think is when we truly find out just how strong our mental block against UF is. We're the better team on paper, so if we lose again, I think that indicates that it really is very strong.

Keep telling yourself this. UF will be lucky to beat UK this year. 50/50 with Vandy.

UT fans have these crazy deluded narratives in their mind that they think are facts. The truth is, the only people who think that the Vandy and Kentucky games might be in question are you and your fellow inbred hillbilly vol (fan) for lifer's

UT fans posted these same lists in 2012 and 2014. In both of those seasons, UT was the overwhelming favorite on paper on offense, and a push on defense according to UT homers.

I don't see why this year is any different. UT does not have great talent on the offensive line, one of their most experienced players is hurt at that position, Dobbs and Treon Harris stats are eerily similar despite Dobb's additional playing time:

Josh Dobbs - 112-177 (63.3%), 1206 yards, 9 TD, 6 INT, 12 sacks
Rushing - 92 carries, 551 yards, (5.98 YPC), 8 TD, 4 fumbles, 2 lost

Treon Harris - 55-111 (49.5%), 1019 yards, 9 TD, 4 INT, 7 sacks,
Rushing - 68 carries, 364 yards, (5.35 YPC), 3 TD, 5 fumbles 3 lost

So Treon Harris and Josh Dobbs had very similar seasons, despite Treon not having the same number of opportunities. Does anyone wonder then why Dobbs is getting all of the hype and not Treon? Maybe it's because as decent as Treon was last year on a shitty team, he isn't even expected to beat out Will Grier for the starting job?

And Demarcus Robinson is way better in terms of production that anything UT can put on the field, same with Jake McGee at TE. Let's see, Jake has 71 career receptions for 769 yards and 7 TD and what does UT have at that position?

So why does UT have such a big advantage on paper? Oh right, because you buy they hype and you are a homer.

You'll beat Vandy no prob. But you were one missed play clock call away from losing to UK at home last year, so I wouldn't dismiss that game if I were you.

I agree they shouldn't be overlooked or be an auto victory, but that was under UF's worst head coach since the 1970s....

Didn't UT barely beat Vanderbilt last year? So by that same logic, UT will suck again this year and shouldn't overlook the worst team in the SEC?

Meh. I don't know how anyone could put Tennessee above Texas A&M, but I'm not worried about it. It will play itself out.

LSU is ranked too high. We have no OL, no QB, no WRs, no RBs, no DL, no LBers, no secondary, and no special teams. A team filled with underclassmen with no game experience. And our coaching isn't that good either, after Chief left.

Vanderbilt historically gets extremely hyped for our game (we're their Super Bowl) and usually gives their best effort of the season against us. Although we almost always win, and they haven't beaten a bowl level UT team in 30+ years, we know not to overlook them because even our 9-10 win teams have had some close shaves with them over the years.

Whatever. Vandy and Tennessee have played close games the past 10 years because the teams were comparable in actual ability.

Kentucky almost beat Florida last year because Florida was a shite show.

This Super Bowl concept is crap.
