1. Alabama - until someone can dethrone them why put them anywhere else?
2. Georgia - I'm fine with this for now - they ended on a high note
3. Missouri - SEC east champ 2 years running, should be solid on D, ok on O
4. Auburn - we know offense will be good, will D improve? 1-4 last 5 games.
5. Arkansas - Returns decent offense, good defense, strong finish to season.
6. LSU - amazing talent, some questions on defense and at QB.
7. Ole Miss - strong defense, questions at QB. tough finish last year.
8. MSU - best QB in the league, lost a lot though.
9. Tennessee - decent QB returning, more experienced - can they beat someone?
10. Texas AM - good offense this year, serious defensive questions
11. Florida - Offense has serious questions, defense should be good
12. South Carolina - Hoping for new faces to fix D, new QB
13. Kentucky - decent QB, decent recruiting, time to show improvement?
14. Vanderbilt -

I can't wait for this season to get started. While these meaningless rankings are fun before the season, the truth is that the SEC (especially the West) is as wide open as I can remember. In the East, most people predict UGA as the favorite. The reality is that it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see either UGA, UT, Mizzou, or maybe even USCe atop the final standings. In the West, nearly any team in the division could finish anywhere from the top to the bottom... and those who don't actually win the division will have a lot of say in who actually does win it.

Past streaks are irrelevant to how good the teams are heading into this year. Good thing you won't have to worry about at least one, likely both headed into next year.

Tennessee's massive fall back down to reality is going to be both glorious and hysterical and I can't wait when it starts against Oklahoma.

You're trying too hard.

When you go 7-6 and 3-5 in the SEC I don't think you deserve to be hyped up, especially with an unproven quarterback (except against shitty competition) and a head coach who is 12-13 in his time in Knoxville. I don't see where I am trying too hard. All of the Vols fans need a week ban just to come to grips with reality a little bit.

More proven than 95% of the rest of the conference

Your coach is 0-0, you have no idea what your team will or will not be this year

Swap these two. South Carolina has a lot of questions, but they are more stable than Florida.

And that is exactly why Florida is towards the bottom of the power rankings too. Both teams have question marks. Florida has proven that even when they are at their worst, they are still better than Tennessee. And that is why they should be ahead of Tennessee in the power rankings, but lets face it, it isn't like it matters.

Florida's worst team since 1979 beat Tennessee by two touchdowns with their back up quarterback. Tennessee went 0-4 against quite possibly the worst coach Florida has ever had. Oh, and Muschamp had a better record than Butch through two years. Don't worry, it'll never get worse than what UF fans just went through.

But it isn't even close. Muschamp was 18-8 through two years. Butch is 12-13...
