Don't get me wrong, his big play potential was huge. But, when he played teams that know how to counter aggressive defense (i.e. Alabama and Arkansas last year) he becomes more of a liability than an asset.

Arkansas last year?

He played safety. And had 2 forced fumbles, 1 rec.

Ok. I'm going off two LSU fans that told me today that Arkansas exposed him along with Alabama. I didn't watch the whole game. Maybe they were trying to make themselves feel better.

He was in on so many plays that people don't even realize unless they watch the tape.
He had like two bad games. SO OVERRATED

They will be missing Mo Claiborne badly this year

no different than patrick peterson the year before. Simon will be the next first round draft choice at CB for LSU.....Simon will be the shutdown corner. TM made a lot of plays in special packages, and that is going to be hard to be replaced, although there is a youngun that may play the nickel spot very well....will miss his playmaking ability....but for the base defense....probably not a huge loss.

Don't think the secondary will be better than last year with all the young guys there will be growing pains. But this team is loaded and is certainly still a contender. I really am starting to hate ESPN and their agendas.

there are still TWO potential first round draft picks back there...and a hell of a pass rush....combined with some major talent coming in to play.....anyone that thinks they will be weak ...is just fooling themselves. There will be a blown coverage or two starting out...sure....but this base defense can be just as good or better without tm7.....

Thread hijack:

Not sure if anyone watches The Newsroom on HBO, but the show brings up a good point. The media is often a public company and has an obligation to be profitable for their shareholders. Journalist have an obligation to the truth and facts. The problem lies in the fact that the two are often in direct opposition to one another. Disney share holders would rather ESPN keep up their ratings than report fairly and factually.

ESPN hates the SEC in general...

And the President of Chick-fil-A' must hate Chick-fil-A and Bill Gates hates Microsoft.

SEC tardness supreme.

ESPN uses the promotion of the SEC to print money.

this was already said...espn loves the sec for money purposes...but they damn sure don't want the sec winning another championship...it is pretty clear if you listen to any of the analysts out there....but that's fine with me. Only thing it hurts is that they had a podium to push for certain other schools and can skew the voting......sort of like the national media and their love for democrats.

I never said they would be weak, but I expect more blown coverages than last year.

Utah beating USC would be funny...and not really surprising

Hell no it wouldn't be funny! Wouldn't surprise me though. Utah's got some players.

Also a weeknight road game, never a good thing to go into.

We exposed him on a couple plays in 2010, one of them being one of the biggest of the game.

He raped us in 2011 when he played safety back 15-20 yards.
