Unreal. A normal discussion about talent on two teams and the first thing outta your mouth is some BS insecure crap.

It's close to football season. Two of the best programs of the last ten years. Comparisions happen every season between these programs.

LSUs depth at WR is insane. They just do not have a quarterback and a good enough game plan to get them the ball. I give LSU the edge on WRs

Alabama has depth too, I can assure you. And if LSUs QB can't get their WRs the ball, then you cannot give LSU the edge at WR. A player is no good if he is taken out of the game. The key for LSU will be Harris. Does he improve enough. he doesn't have to be great.....just good enough. He has not been good enough the past couple of years. That, and the offensive play calling has to change.

They're absolutely loaded this year. There is no excuse for them to lose more than 2 games this year (including the postseason). If they can't win the SEC/make the playoff this year, then you have to consider showing Les the door. It's put up or shut up time, and Les' typical 10-3 season shouldn't cut it. They may not have a team with this amount of experience/talent for a little while since they'll be losing the majority of their key players to the draft/graduation.

I haven't read a single post in this thread, but I bet I can guess exactly how it's gone.

LSU fans: "We have as much, if not more, talent than Bama."

Bama fans: "We're better at everything. Les Miles and Brandon Harris suck. Fournette's overrated. Everyone is overrated."

aTm & the Vandy Fan: "Lulz LSU sucks. Bama is the greatest."

Everyone else: "Meh. They're about equal overall, but Bama has a slight edge."

I would be money I fricking nailed it.

Bama has some 1st Rd talent that can't even get on the field until the Jr year. While 1st Rd talents are day 1 starters at LSU. That's the difference in talent levels right now.

BhamDore is a troll, but he's spot on here, at least before this year. Getting our juniors to stay this year finally put LSU on a level to compete better with Bama.

But LSU fans who think Bama's losses to the draft are going to push them back are in for a rude awakening. Once again Bama will be one of the nation's elite teams - unless they have QB problems, but tha's the curse of college football

Bama is in tDecline. LSU is taking over the West.
We need to admit that LSU is now the King and that we are only playing catch up.
Long live the King. Long live LSU.

The other writer..."If I'm forced to choose -- and that is what we're doing here after all -- I'll side with Alabama."

They have to generate interest after all.

that LSU has more proven players on their squad

That's very debatable. Reuben Foster, Tim Williams, Jon Allen, Eddie Jackson, Marlon Humphrey, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ronnie Harrison are elite and proven. Dalvin Tomlinson, Ryan Anderson, Daron Payne, Da'Shawn Hand..really good proven players. That's just the defense. Ridley, Stewart, Howard, Robinson is a good group to build around on offense, but LSU returns a lot of talent on that side of the ball as well. Defensively, nobody returns as much as Alabama though, that's not really up for debate. Don't get too hung up on "returning starters". Bama played 25 guys pretty regularly last year and many of them return. You're kidding yourself if you think they'll be anything less than the best defense in the country again

Funny. LSU fans claim to have the best RB in CFB, yet couldn't help but make a multitude of threads demeaning a RB that put up over 210 yards rushing on their defense. Then claim to have the best returning team, but yet again, can't help but talk about Alabama.

Just another off season for LSU fans.

I don't think anyone is arguing they're loaded. LSU IMO has always matched, or at least come close to, Alabama in terms of talent. The only difference this year is they have more experience coming back. Doesn't mean they have more talent.

This is dumb logic. If you have Julio Jones, Odell Beckham, and Antonio Brown on the same team with Anthony Jennings at QB for team A, but have the WR backups for Kentucky with Aaron Rodgers at QB for team B, you dont give the edge to team B just because they hve a better QB.

This is an exagerrated point, but we are talking about a single group of players that are being compared about. Sure, LSU's WR's may have less stats because we run the ball more than not, but it shouldn't be compared because of the QB.

Damn all this name calling is nuts, expected tho.

LSUs starters are NC level, no one can argue that. It's the depth that becomes an issue.

This year will be a close one for sure.
