He bases this on the strength of the LSU recruiting class? Does he realize that Alabama's class was better?

LSU has a great team. They MIGHT win the SEC. But that guys reasoning is way off.

This is the only comment on the first page worth replying to.

Alabama recruited better than LSU last year, and every year prior for several years. Alabama will have more talent as measured by recruiting rankings than every team in the country until Saban leaves, and it will never be close.

If you look at at the amount of 4 and 5 stars that have gone to Alabama over the past few years as compared to every other team, it's unbelievable that they've lost any games at all.

Not stargazing at all.
I am, in fact, judging my predictions on unbiased observations.
BAMA returns a great team, with huge advantages at multiple positions.
However, looking at LSU's youth last year, combined with average expected improvements, LSU SHOULD (not will, to you 14 year old retards) have the advantage in nearly half the positions.
This does not mean LSU will win the GOTC or the West, it just means that in the PRESEASON, this game intriguingly matches up as well for LSU as ever in the recent past.
Buncha slapped jawed ****s round here....

After the open practice today it looks like Bama likely starts 6-7 former 5 stars on defense and 6-7 more former 5 stars on offense. That's just dirty. Nobody has more raw talent on the roster than Bama, and that's not disputable. Now experienced talent? Sure, I can buy LSU. Guess we will see if more raw talent and less experience wins the day, or less raw talent and more experience wins out.

What has Brandon Harris contributed to be considered a positive asset?

This has become a far more popular talking point than it ever should of been. Most people post this dipshit comment without even looking at the stats. He was a first year starter sophomore QB. Very few QBs look good as starting sophomores. He was injured (pretty severely) before the 2nd half of the Bama game (when it really went downhill for him).

I'm in no way saying he looked great last year and I doubt he will look spectacular this year, but there is no reason not to believe he will be just as good as Coker was for Bama and that is all that is really needed from him. If he can just play average without turning the ball over, that is all LSU needs him to do. We don't need him to be a breakout superstar. Just get those clutch plays to extend drives and at least give the threat of a passing game. LF7 and Guice can take care of the rest.

Isn't Bateman going to be Bamas QB this year? That guy was terrible last year. Way worse than Harris. Bet he isn't any better this year because, you know, QBs can't improve from year to year.

Read article twice and didn't see one mention of the '16 recruiting class. Maybe I just missed it.

What did he say about the class?

It sucks that Captain Harris is going to sink the ship full of talent.

Bateman may or may not be the QB. Either way, the Bama staff has proven they can develop a QB...something the LSU staff has repeatedly failed at.

Every team had young players that will improve.

Bama probably had just as many or more young players than LSU last year. Bama young players gained championship experience though.

Minkah Fitzpatrick, Marlon Humphrey, Ronnie Harrison, and Eddie Jackson were all 1st year starters last year in secondary and will improve. 3 of those guys were freshman last year. Reuben Foster was a 1st yr starter last year and will improve. Tim Williams was a 1st time contributor last year and will improve. The list goes on and on.

LSU will have no advantage in any unit except RB. Bama will still probably get more production from that unit even though LSU has LF, because Kiffin over Cam Cameron.
