Random I would post a picture of a stick dude humping OP but I promised not to post lewd cartoons.

So just know you blasted this thread to bits.

And nice sig. ;)

Man, y'all sleeping on Jennings, but he's going to turn it around this year. Too much going against him last year in addition to his own problems. He's going to be plenty productive this year (Bookmark this Post).

Wasn't Jeff Driskel an E11 MVP over Teddy Bridgewater?

Dunno if sarcasm but I'm actually a Jennings > Harris guy anyway.

Oh, saw your second post and just realized you weren't being sarcastic in the first one. I like Jennings over Harris too. Although I do like Harris's talent, I just don't see him doing enough to beat Jennings out.

Elite 11 Matters

There's 18 finalists and 11 are chose to be called "Elite". The wiki page only shows the 11

Ah, okay. That really kind of diminishes the factoid

Without cross-referencing the finalists with the QB Heisman results if there's a large discrepancy then I agree. But just looking at their notable alums on the wiki it's hard to deny the eye for talent Heiman winners and brand name College QBs everywhere. BUT kids also flame out or may not reach their potential. Happy to say Dobbs was an Elite 11 finalist cuz why not? I'm a believer in his potential even when other UT fans doubted his true frosh late season starts and I haven't had a QB I believed in since Manning (NOT A COMPARISON, BTW!). Though I did drool over Bray's arm which was amazing. His QB skills were lacking.

Oh and I gotta give ya points for your new sig pic despite it looking the same as a right side up Power T to me. (I've heard some of y'all say it's reminiscent of a Vandy Anchor but I don't see it).

Mild dyslexia and the ability to read upside down as well as rightside up FTW!

Ten of the past 11 Heisman-winning quarterbacks were Elite 11 finalists

Okay, but that was over 13 years. So 10 out of 143+ QBs. Those odds aren't that great.

Some "notable" Elite 11 QBs:

Jarett Lee
Neil Caudle
Jeff Driskel
Kiehl Frazier

All Heisman Runner-Ups of course.

Are you sure? I'm looking at the wiki page for Elite 11 and, well, Mariota wasn't Elite 11, Manziel wasn't Elite 11, Griffin wasn't Elite 11, Newton wasn't Elite 11....

That's four in the last five years already. Or is there some nuance to the idea of "finalist" that I'm missing?

10 of the past 11 quarterbacks to have won the Heisman Trophy attended the Elite 11 finals or an Elite 11 regional. 35 of the top 49 NFL passers in 2014 attended the Elite 11 finals or an Elite 11 regional.

OP is dumb. They didn't even all make the finals. They all made regionals but some got weeded out there.

That second play looked like shite effort on LF's part. 22 never had to go cover cause LF didn't even act like a decoy and run his route out. That would have at the least opened a running lane up for a game in the fall.

And yes I realize it's a spring game but it's supposed to be one of the most "real" game situation they face until live ball. But I agree if you can build on those 2 plays he could be ok. I just don't know how many bad play examples there are from that same game

Just looking at some of Tennessee's Elite 11 Quarterbacks (and the year they were on the list):

Casey Clausen - '99
Jonathan Crompton - '04
Tyler Bray - '09
Josh Dobbs - '12

Dobbs is still in the middle of his career, but of the others, only Crompton was drafted (5th round San Diego).

Bama elite 11 QBs:

2000 Brodie Croyle
2007 Star Jackson
2008 AJ Macarron
2009 Philip Sims
2010 Philip Ely (this shocks me, since most Bama fans were wondering why we bothered taking him)
2012 Luke Del Rio
2014 Blake Barnett

Going through the list, most elite 11 QBs go undrafted. Even Zeke Pike made it in 11, and I don't think he ever played a snap at QB. There's a train I take that camp with a grain of salt.

Well...he still has a year of eligibility...but since he is playing at Murray State...I don't see much hope.

Who cares about the damn NFL when you're trying to win CFB games?

Final year of all QBs

Clausen - 2968 yards 27 TDs 9 ints 2 rush TDs
Crompton - 2800 yards 27 TDs 13 ints 1 rush TD
Bray - 3612 yards 34 TDs 12 ints

Bonus
Dobbs in 6 games with a top 5 worse OL in country
1206 yards 9 TDs 469 rush yards 8 TDs (nearly 280 total yards and 3 TDs per game).

I'd call those QBs, good deals.

Several of these are mildly shocking, but after seeing Ely try to throw in college and now knowing he was somehow someway in this "Elite 11" group, I will heretofore ignore any hype attributed to a QB based on his Elite 11 status.

I'll see your Philip Ely and raise you a Kiehl Frazier.
