I agree that the conference needs to do SOMETHING. But I'm not sure this is the answer.

Screw it, go to ten games, forbid the scheduling of any OOC non-BCS teams unless they're in state and on the FBS level.

SOS through the roof.

I have been talking about shite canning the divisions for years

did not know that the All Cupcake Conference had submitted legislation to the NCAA to push just that agenda - hats off to them!

Someone else linked this already - LINK

From the article:

quote:

The measure is thought to have wide-ranging support among FBS conferences because it is largely non-controversial.

The idea makes perfect sense AND would be so much better for the fans

I actually see this happening - someone else commented that "the NCAA would never allow it"

Yeah. Right. i mean, the big conferences have just recently threatened to walk away from the NCAA and form their own "super league"

The NCAA is a paper tiger anymore - if the conferences want it, it WILL happen

I like it. However, I think a team from Alabama would win the Central 99.9% of the time.

every school rotates 5 teams per year so you play everybody else twice in 4 years. The 2 highest rated school's play in the title game.

& let MORE of a bitch-fest begin about who's not playing whom in any given year. Not to mention the headaches trying to figure out all the tie-breakers.

You think having 1 rotating opponent is bad? Wait until you have 5.

Divisions are far because most of the schedule is the same for the opponents.

Divisions exist in every major sporting body for that reason.

You increase the number of teams, you need to increase the number of games. Should have gone to 9.
