Yes, it's girls softball. Hardly anyone cares, and I don't either...BUT, I love our coach. Dude has always told it like it was.

Read this email exchange with Missouri ST head coach

Damn you're actually proud of that classlessness?

That's pathetic for a grown man to behave like that.

Quid pro quo.

The email bashing him was classless as well. One was a passive aggressive attack on him and his program and one was and honest in your face direct response.

Your anti Mizzou thing because of Iowa ties is kind of sad.

Wasn't in your face and direct, was stupid for a man in his position.

He's also a man talking to a woman although you have to have some female tendencies to be a women's softball coach

Ps this current arrangement is actually good for my team because even when we
trounce you, our rpi drops.
Last time i checked you were at 118.
I have to give you credit though, you've been able to keep your job despite being
horseshite for so long.

Kind of a tool email but the guy is a winner so don't care. I love the Guttin quip as MSU kicked Mizzou's arse this year on the diamond.

I know it will sound biased coming from me but he is not helping his image at all with how he handled that. Looks childish IMO. That isn't how you represent your program as a head coach.

His response in its entirety:

quote:

Wow!
Are you serious holly?

Big accusations about my character and no clue of what you're talking about. This isnt really about my character though, its about yours...or lack there of.

The truth of the matter is you're scared to get your arse whipped yet again by old mizzou.
Have the courage to say what it really is and quit hiding behind your phony excuses.

You've been ducking us for awhile now and you know it. Pull your tail out from between your legs and learn how to compete.

I bet your players see right through you like i do.
Why dont you do the right thing and show these impressionable young ladies how to face a challenge instead of running from one?

If/when you decide to be a big girl, you know how to get ahold of me. In the meantime, If you need tips on how to compete against mu, ask coach guttin.

Ps this current arrangement is actually good for my team because even when we trounce you, our rpi drops. Last time i checked you were at 118.

I have to give you credit though, you've been able to keep your job despite being horseshite for so long.

Hats off...

Doesn't look that good for either program, actually, but it is entertaining.

Those sure were some strong words that your coach emailed a female softball coach.

Impressive email badassery.

BOOM! Headshot!

Totally a jackass move, but I would probably do the same thing. Someone basically went to his boss and called him a liar and cheater with no proof. If you make classless attacks behind someone's back, expect a classless response to your face.

ETA: Anyone getting upset that he talked to a woman like this is silly. He didn't threaten her. They are colleagues. Gender does not matter at that point. He did not make sexist comments. If he had threatened her or made sexist remarks, it would be different, but he didn't.

Exactly.

I thought it was awesome, but we live in such a PC world where everyone is afraid of getting their poor, little feelings hurt.

This could be why they don't want to play anymore

@btoppmeyer: #Mizzou softball is 8-0 vs. Missouri State during Earleywine's tenure. MU combined to outscore the Bears 57-1 in those games.

However, our girls did spit sunflower seeds on their field....

The director of softball operations is not his boss. He never addressed her points specifically either.

Agree completely there was nothing sexist at all and I laughed heartily at his last sentence. Now I wouldn't enjoy getting an email like that but not because I'm a woman but because some arse was trashing my abilities.

What a wasted opportunity. Earleywine missed the perfect chance to drop a "Sugar Tits" into that conversation.
