Yes he does. When head coaches get blamed for not recruiting good kickers, they should also get credit for what he has achieved by hiring the right coaches, and motivating his team.

He worked hard and proved all of his detractors wrong.

I've been sold on Coach O since last season. Obviously with the big win over Georgia in Baton Rouge, but also with the season as a whole. That team certainly overachieved when you consider their preseason outlook.

This year, it just feels like he's totally transformed LSU into a different team. One that is breaking passing and scoring records left and right - something the SEC probably hasn't seen since Spurrier. It's very obvious that he understands what it takes to win championships after being a part of some of those great Miami teams and Carroll's early run at USC.

I loved watching LSU under Les Miles, but it's pretty cool to see Coach O reinvent his career when no one ever expected him to do so.

It will be nice when people start judging this man on how well he coaches rather than how he talks...

One thing that goes under the radar is the upgrade in discipline this team has since he took over for Miles. No more clock issues, penalties have dropped. It just looks like a much better coached team.

This is correct. He’s done a great job staying in his office, being quiet and playing with his toys while the other coaches worked on the gameplans.

He basically just lets his coordinators have control and he does press conferences and pep rallies.

People are idiotic thinking one of the most revered DL coaches ever has no coaching ability. GTFO with that homer shite.

The man has earned some respect regardless of who your team is.
Just as Saban should be respected for his coaching ability regardless of what anyone thinks of him as a human.

And no I'm not saying Ed has proven himself at Sabans level, but he has proven all the haters wrong. Give the man his due without having to include a qualifier.

Thank you for exposing to everyone your ignorance of what occurs behind the scenes in college football coaching staffs.
