No one can reasonably question his recruiting.

Who has he developed? You never answered the question. You said the defense wasn't his fault because that's just the roster he inherited, but you're giving him credit for All-Americans that were already there?

Was that a given? Seems premature to me. But of course, I am scarred from Chizik. Any idea on the buyout? Hopefully not too large, he is still unproven.

I wouldn't expect you too because it doesn't fit your argument. fact is he's been a head coach for how many years and still doesn't have a conference title or BCS game appearance, needs to have at least one to be considered an elite coach don't you think

USC was offering him 6. 0% interest on home loan, and a few other really good perks. Buyout is 5 mil. He can't entertain any more NFL overtures for 3 years.

BCS game appearance doesn't fit my definition of elite. Having a conference title is important, and might be a prerequisite, but I also think a top 5 finish is something an elite coach does, and he did that. But I am not claiming Sumlin is elite, I don't think he has proven that yet. Is that what we are arguing? If Sumlin is elite or not?
