I'm hearing 9 million for Saban to come to Texas. Hope he does leave, so we can maybe win the West.

Depends. Saban at t.u. would not really change much. He may get a spike in recruiting, but that conference is just not very appealing and he hates facing Sumlin/Briles/KK/-type offenses.

Saban at Bama will continue to be the guy to beat.

Fox in the henhouse if he goes to tu.

As it is he just picks one or two up a year.

Totally wrong, but I would love to test that theory. It gets Saban out of the way.

Both theories are certainly interesting.

We are currently owning the state. But if the saban name and Texas money are enough, then we will absolutely have some serious fights on our hands.

But him leaving does open up the west for a new leader. I really do think KDS has put us in position to take that top spot in the next couple of years. Possibly faster if Saban leaves Bama. This is why sumlin was worth the extension and raise.

USC settles for Sark right after Sumlin accepts A&M extension. Jim Rome was on the air today saying that USC wanted Sumlin but never really had a chance to get him.

Really? I'm pretty sure USC never said anything themselves about Sumlin. Is this how all aggy folk tales get started? Y'all believe in completely false and wrong information, but somehow you think by saying it over and over makes it true? USC passed on Sumlin. Sarkisian hire makes WAY more sense than the Sumlin hire. DWI.

ETA: What's your source that Sumlin was offered the job? Just curious. I don't need sources because I'm saying USC never even got that far. Makes no sense for them to not interview anyone else. Sumlin is not a slam dunk hire by any means. He still has plenty of questions.

Dan Patrick has been less than flattering to A&M since our move to the SEC. He despises JFF and he can't understand why anyone would turn down USC instead of leaving us behind.

I'm sure texas u. never offered the HC job to Saban, either. But when agents start inquiring about compensation details and they are given freely, that implies something.

Well, he's not the obvious choice that Sark is with his 34-29 record. If you think USC hired Sark without being told "no" by their first choice or two, via the backchannel avenues, then you're an unmitigated moron.

So, that's probably just what you think.

Hey man. That's it. That's the greatest t.u. victory in at least 5 years.

SC didn't offer.

You might want to google Steve Sarkisian to see where he's coached before. They didn't hire him because he was 34-29.

Oh, he was an assistant at USC in the past? I had no idea! Well, that settles it. He probably WAS their first choice, then.

His main claim to fame has been a few upsets but he has also had a LOT of absolute embarrassments to go with it. His teams have horrible defenses (remember that Baylor game in the Alamo Bowl where they gave up 76 points?) and have a history of epic collapses. His teams have very rarely ever been ranked and when they have they have proceeded to lose multiple games and fall from the rankings in rapid fashion.

Memories of being an assistant with Carroll are not a good reason to hire a coach. This is especially true when USC supposedly had $6 million to offer.

Schefter said tonight on Sportscenter that since USC couldn't get Sumlin they turned to Sark.

I'm going to go ahead and believe Schefter over some hack with 1500 twitter followers writing for an obscure blog called "Rumors and Rants."

You just get dumber and dumber.
