You definitely have a point, but I think you're also forgetting just how young we were on defense this year. We've had Georgia players in the NFL now that claimed our defensive playbook is more complicated than the one's they're using now on their NFL teams. Can't imagine what it was like for those freshman in the secondary to come straight out of high school into that. I think the skill is there. We just have to get them more confident in knowing where they're suppose to be for each play, and that comes with experience.

Bama won't be no. 2 next year. still be in the top 10 but not 2 Lsu is in a good spot. We will probably come out around 7-12 depending on how Anthony Jennings does in this bowl game.

And to follow up on the D, look at how the D (with several true freshmen and backups elevated to starters due to suspensions) started last year:

-clemson against Tajh Boyd
-SC with Shaw
-LSU with mett

This year they won't open with boyd, won't face boyd, and don't have a good west team until november. The schedule will be much more managable with a whole nother year of experience under all their belts.

Did you just look at our 2014 schedule? Hell yeah it's "easy", it's as manageable a schedule as you could possibly hope for.

I didn't want to include that in why we should be higher though for the people that would start the debate about whether that factors into preseason rankings.

We lose a LOT. Yes, we have a ton of talent, but we lose a lot of experience.

I'm thinking 8-10, somewhere in that range.

FSU will start as number 4, when they get blown out on the 6th.

Hell we could essentially win it before November. If we are undefeated after missouri I don't see much chance of us losing the east.

We'll have a very experienced OL, return ALL of our RBs and TEs, lose only Norwood/Bell at WR, and even then losing Bell doesn't mean anything. Cooper, White, and Jones will be back at WR.

We return Ivory, Lake, MAYBE Pagan, Robinson, Allen, Tomlinson back from injury, on the DL. Dickson, Devall, DePriest at LB. Vinnie, Collins, Jarrick, Perry, Geno, Sylve, Jones as experience in the secondary. Granted Sylve and Jones aren't good, but the experience is there.

Lose your field general on both sides of the ball, no problem; #2 ranking!

Well if you win your first 7 SEC games...you have won the East bec you finish with a west team and would have all the tie breakers.

That would be Nov 8th.

AU could lose to UGA and go 7-1 but have all the tie breakers in the West...or AU could win and just go 8-0.

Yea, I don't see how Florida deserves to be in the top 40, let alone the top 25.

Fired their OC. That's an instant addition of a win or two.
