I understand them wanting to play the game in Gainesville. It was way more than 10 miles BTW. At the end of the day. Florida and LSU should hhave sat down way sooner than they did and hammer out details about how, where and who. Florida could have and should have had a couple of answers for the questions they knew where coming. LSU could have and should have shown more support about the situation. But at the end of the day. They didn't both were being selfish and we the fans lost out.

quote:USC did this year. LSU did last year. Arizona State did it in 2005.
They knew full well UF could not get things lined up in that short amount of time.
Obviously Florida doesn't know how to plan or make contingency plans.

If that McNeese game was a conference game, it would have been delayed until Sunday. They would of found a way.

Yes, I'm sure "they would of".

"After reviewing all of the information, I felt this was the best decision for the game. The safety of our student-athletes, coaches and fans is our priority," Slive said. "I understand this puts a burden on LSU and its administration. However, the travel safety issues necessitate this decision."
It's not like there's historical precedence to validate that claim or anything..

Gump dumb arse. Florida should have had everything set up from months of knowing the game was there. Of course you know this just typical gump lodgic. Stir the pot huh boys. The chicken hawks blew the chance.

Crimson crazy- quit dickriding Florida. Not a good look.

quote:Yeah, with about 18 hours to re-do the game. Also, it was what, 9 or 10pm when the game was cancelled with no hotels for McNeese that night, not including the rest of the logistics that go into hosting a game. How do you find 70 or 80 hotel rooms at that time?
Oh, you mean like last year when you couldn't push a game back one day?
You and Florida have something in common, you both need to try harder.

F. King Alexander said LSU needed to know if they were going to host by Wednesday night, in order to get Tiger Stadium ready, police lined up, etc. Perfectly understandable.
UF didn't know until early Friday morning they had missed the worst of the hurricane. They got lucky by about 10 miles, yet somehow they were supposed to get BHG ready for play by Sunday or Monday? Double standard???
This whole "we were willing to play Sunday or Monday" line is a complete lie and LSU's AD knows it. They knew full well UF could not get things lined up in that short amount of time
We now know for sure that even basic math isn't taught in Alabama. Wednesday night to Saturday noon is 2 1/2 days. Friday at noon, when police gave the all clear because of no issues (sister lives right near there closer to the coast and she said it was absolutely nothing and for none of us to worry whatsoever) until Monday evening is over 3 days. There was no reason to not play this game THIS past weekend. EVERY other game went off without a hitch. Gainesville received NO bad weather. The decision was made early to call it before looking at ANY other options. It's mighty funny how all these other games had teams travel INTO where the storm actually was headed. Just in case you're not a true football fan, go look up the Notre Dame vs NC State game where they played in a cow pasture with driving winds and rain..... couldn't run, pass, kick or punt all game. Look at any other Southeastern coast game that SATURDAY. Weather in Gainesville Saturday at noon was 83 degrees, 10 MPH wind and SUNNY. There are no arguments. Florida did not want to play it, it's obvious, SEC Commish is a clown, and it'll be Florida that will have to be put out, not LSU. After all the wars, tragedies, hurricanes, storms and floods over all the years of SEC football, this is the first SEC game to be cancelled. Let that sink in.

Right, because I'm sure the state police would be cool with that. Come on, man.
Police gave the all clear early Friday. Even they knew there was "nothing to see here". Thursday night, slight winds, 1.6" of rain. All clear and everyone go about your business Friday at lunch. Pretty convenient for them to "cry fowl" (fowl is chicken) as they hosted recruits that weekend and sent other Florida teams out onto those dreaded roads to play road games that weekend. You're an idiot.
