Their investigation is the important one that matters.. NCAA who cares, SEC who cares, news media who cares...if you lie to the fbi you will be prosecuted...go ahead auburn, chiznut, ms state, dan mullen, newtons, whoever...the truth will be out soon enough...

FBI doesn't hand out those penalties but the ones they do hand out can skull-drag you for life. The Newton family better be getting the Sharpton/Jackson bus warmed up !

I'm pretty sure it is already idling in the garage.

Other than tax evasion, money laundering, or looking into the leaking of sealed education records, what would the FBI be looking for.

Auburn gives the FBI the finger too. That's how they roll.

Remeber Auburn, visitation day is Wednesday at the Federal Correction Facility.

mmmm just the selling of an underaged football players to colleges i can't see what's so wrong with that...the fbi would not be interested at all in that..

Well Cam is by no means underage and there is no law on the books against doing it. The main thing they would be worried about is tax evasion or money laundering.

That's an NCAA matter. I don't think there are any federal laws on what college football teams can and cannot due when recruiting. The NCAA oversees that type of thing, they would be the ones to determine penalties.

I don't believe they were underage.

whatever the reason is not as important as the fact that the fbi is involved...

The FBI doesn't normally get involved in recruiting violations and asking for money for your kid is not against the law. I guarantee you the FBI focused on the practices of one Kenny Rogers. John Bond, MSU and Auburn are tangential to the FBI investigation and aside from lying to them, nothing will come of it for them. Rogers is another story I would bet.
The other separate case is MSU and Cam Newton. Separate and nothing to do with Auburn. MSU claims to have been approached with a play for pay scheme. We will see whether or not we handled it right but again, it has nothing to do with Auburn; just a common denominator in Cam Newton (and Cecil).
The third and again separate case is that of the eligibility of Cam Newton and whether or not he received benefits to attend Auburn. Again, has nothing to do with what occurred at MSU but since he was the common denominator with the MSU you can follow that to Auburn.
Another case will evolve out of this at that will be an investigation of the SEC office and Mike Slive. You can bet the SEC university Presidents are watching this very closely and I doubt are the least bit happy with the way any of this went down - from the get go.

Agreed Diamond dawg but clearly Newton has admitted to seeking money for his services across state lines twice. That is quid pro quo bribery. (3 to 5 years minimum)
They will advise him on penalities for purgery. Play the tapes, and read the other witness statements and he will cut a deal and throw everyone else under the bus.

There is no bribery what is the difference in you seeking money to do a job in three different states. It is not illegal to pay a kid to play to attend a school.
