Gus would be an idiot to go to Miami. Even the greatest of all time coach shorty saban was a failure down there

I don't believe this, but he'd be a fool not to go if they want him. Miami Dolphins >>Auburn University

For the record, I don't think Gus leaves, but in my opinion he maxes out in his 1st year. Gonna be hard to live up to expectations going forward. Can he do it? It's possible but how patient will the AU fanbase be?

Well, it depends on whether Gus wants to coach in the NFL. If he did, the Fins are a very good job for anyone.

Saban failed because he isn't a great coach IMO. He is a great recruiter and program builder and a very good college coach. In the NFL he was very mediocre.

The Fins have good talent. They are a middle of the pack NFL team, better than half the NFL, worse than the other half. That isn't good or bad, just what it is.

The Fins have commitment from ownership and actually a very solid fan base. The Fins have had 1 playoff appearance in 13 years and Bill Parcels royally fricked them but the fans are still supportive and would be rabid if the Fins had a good team. It is the one pro team south florida does support well, even after 13 years of nothing from the team.

"Growing up, obviously, huge Dallas Cowboys fan," Malzahn told CampusInsiders.com. "Any time you can be associated with them that would be a pretty cool deal, but as you get older, this college football really fits me well, especially at a place like Auburn. Auburn allows me to be who I am and I'm so happy being here. We've got a bright future. I think the best is yet to come here."

As opposed to staying with a program that fires you for one bad year?

Auburn has had 3 coaches since 1999. The Dolphins have probably had twice that many coaches during the same time

Not only that, not even show up to support the players through bad times

Huge difference between longevity in college vs pros. Not saying he will go just saying that auburn isn't necessarily a place you want to be loyal to because they won't repay it...

Coaching in the NFL isn't like college. It's a crapshoot. You can't build the team and the players aren't really required to listen to you. If I were a coach, I'd never leave college for the NFL.

Now, you're just talking out of your arse here. The Dolphins have the worst fan base of any NFL team. The stadium is largely empty on virtually every home game, mostly populated by fans of the visiting team.

Typical auburn logic. Why are you changing the subject?

Anyways - the fins have a better chance at a divisional title than auburn does at making the SECCG over the next two years
