Negative, but that's ok in my book. You guys are 100x better than the cajuns to our south and the mexicans to our west. Damn yankees, just chill out...

Soooo, northerners consider Missouri southern and southerners consider Missouri northern?

Its actually kind of funny. To my friend from New Jersey, I am country as hell. And I am from St. Louis . Beaks call us "Slavers". But we are viewed as "Yankee" to others.

Personally I have never considered us either.

I say soda as a general term for soft drinks.

I use brand names when ordering.

Only arse backward southerners would be proud of the following:

"Id like to order a Coke"
"What kind of Coke would you like?"
"Dr Pepper"

It's mind boggling.

Just say what brand you want from the start.

Looks like a picture of Missouri folk. Is that picture of people and farm land in the south somewhere?

Billy Beer. That is Jimmy Carter's brother, Billy, he had a bit of drinking problem, ended up getting his own beer out of the deal.

If you want a Dr.P, you say, "I'll have a Dr.P."

If you want a generic run of the mill "cola" i.e. Coke, Pepsi, RC, or Sav-A-Lot cola you say, "I'll have a coke."

It is what it is.

This conversation is starting to remind me of the dialogue in Pulp Fiction.

i think there are 2 scenarios here. one is just in casual convo- 'i'm gonna get a coke' where you walk to the fridge or whatever and get you your choice of soft drink. two is when ordering from a restaurant- i don't say 'i want a coke' and then have to specify what kind- i order a 'diet coke'. geez people.
