The biggest problem with the show is the TV format. They don't need that and it detracts from what could still be a quality show. It's also taken removed him completely from his role as an investigative reporter, and that lowers the quality of the current content.

Well ABC owns ESPN, so you can thank them for how shitty ESPN has become. ABC is part of the "Big 6" in the media, and it is very obvious that they want to dumb down America and this show is another example of it. It is funny that you mentioned this bold part.

Like take the Dan Patrick show, like why does he need to have these celebrities on there giving us their opinion on sports? Why does Dan need to promote all these different movies that are coming out?

it's not fun listening to a bunch of rednecks across the south call in and complain about stuff they can't control.

Sounds like how I feel reading through the threads on here...

I grew up in AL so I used to read his column in the Birmingham Post Herold. He had the same act then in 1980.

I've been sick of him for awhile.

The Finebaum show was much better pre-ESPN. He shat on Alabama when we were down & wallowing in our own slop. He shat on Tubby for going duck hunting from Christmas til Signing Day.

Now that its national, he's basically a shill for the conference office & ESPN's tabloid culture.

The State needs a new replacement.

They should have a SECR/TD poster be a guest host each week of the offseason and bring Paaawwwl back in the fall.

I think phan and germantown would be entertaining for a week.

Finebaum has said more than once that his show is about "entertainment". Which is not necessarily sports related. His regular callers, the majority bama fans, have their own line to get through on & thus are on more than any other callers. Larry, a bama fan & huge troll, has 2 front teeth missing but he's on the air all the time. My main bitch, however, and the reason I stopped watching, is that he's Saban & bama's pimp. During the summer building up to the season, during the season and during the playoffs, he's talking about bama or Saban the large majority of the time. Sad thing is, ESPN does not care about quality, just ratings, and as Jerry Springer proved, the IQ level of the fans watching are totally irrelevant.

I know, right. It's like he actually thinks Saban is the greatest coach in college football history and Bama has won 4 NCs in 7 years. Why should he talk about them so much?

When the SEC Network launched I watched his show for about 10 minutes. Haven't watched it since, it's terrible. Wish we had quality shows on it because it isn't worth watching unless your team is playing on it.

Missouri isn't the only SEC rep in the tv industry. I know UGA has a strong one too, including hosts on Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, Ryan Seacrest, multiple Food Network shows, plus your typical ESPN/TNT alumni.

I love how much effort some put into proving they don't watch/listen.

You do. That's why he has an ESPN contract and a Sirius/XM contract before that. They don't give multi-million dollar contracts with national syndication and national tv exposure to someone that no one watches.

You listen, stop trying to prove you don't. "I just watched 20 minutes, that was enough."

That's not true.
He pisses you off, that's why you listen everyday.

There is no doubt the SEC is leaving money on the table by killing the ratings with Finebaum.

Georgia has a good program. Mizzou is ranked the #1 Journalism Department in the country. Masters degree programs and PHD program are by far the best.

"Graduate students in both degree programs learn journalism skills through work with local radio stations, a commercial television station, a daily newspaper, three magazines and four school websites."

I'm sure the students at Mizzou could make a better SEC sports program than PB.

it wouldn't be so unbareable if they didn't insist on pushing their "regulars" down the viewers throats. rednecks yelling and trashy women trying to act like they know anything about college athletics other than ROLL TIDEEEE or WAR DAMN EAGLE.

just a side note i wish secn showed more baseball. I'm pretty sure they televise more softball games than baseball. I'd truly prefer tennis than that shite.

From an academic standpoint, Missouri is unequivocably way ahead of the other sec schools maybe with the exception of Vanderbilt. Finebaum has a very feeble on-air prescence which might explain all of the quality people he attracts like Charles from Realtown, Jim from Tuscaloosa....and we can't forget about Tammy or Phyllis. Sounds like the trailer park radio network. I stopped listening a little over a year ago because of the aforementioned and Finebaum's propensity for kissing Saban's arse.

He'd still be terrible, but the biggest issue is he doesn't have any idea what he's talking about outside of Alabama and Auburn. He somehow has been chosen to be the defacto SEC talk show guy, yet he couldn't hold an intelligent, in depth conversation about much outside of those two schools. He needs to study up, get another personality on there who is quality, and start screening out the trailer trash that used to be good for his show. No one here takes him seriously at all.
