I tried watching his show this afternoon on Watch ESPN, and it's a complete snooze fest. Surely the 4 hour air time he gets is because SEC Network can't find anything else. I'd rather watch the SEC tennis tournament going on right now

It would be nice if they would play 60 minute football replays of conference games like the B1G and P12 Networks. I don't understand at all why they don't have those.

Not really sure why people give him such a hard time on here.. I think he does a pretty good job. I do think the job gets a little too big for him and he tries too hard at times. It could be so, so much worse though.

I'm not critiquing his "job," just his boring show. Maybe it's just a bad time of year to watch it, but it's not fun listening to a bunch of rednecks across the south call in and complain about stuff they can't control.

He has his nose so far up Sabans arse it isnt funny. Do not watch and havent for long time. I would love to see an ex Bama player host the show...Greg McEleroy, who is very professional and is passionate about college football and very knowledgable. Greg keeps his opinions on a fair and equal level....something Finebaum doesnt know how to do.

I mean there's only so much you can talk about in the offseason so what better way to fill time than with trashy SEC fans

I think it has been well publicized that the majority of SEC fans think Finebaum sux.

The powers that be ignore the feedback, so I don't watch SECN when Finebaum is on.

How else do you expect them to spend four hours every weekday afternoon? Closing a multimillion dollar trade deal? Finishing that novel? Composing another symphony?

I'm semi-retired, so I tune in once in a while in the hope of watching Finebaum interview a current/former HC or similar luminary. If that doesn't happen, I get so bored I go back to watching paint dry.

It's truly awful. How the hell did he ever get a following? Is the state of Alabama that bad that he qualifies as entertainment? It's pure shite.

Replays of games

Pick a fricking sport. We don't need 4 hours of Finebaum every weekday

If only these losers were confined to the state of Alabama. Mississippi Tiders refuse to be outdone when it comes to embarrassing the South.

I once struggled to keep my lunch down while listening to an Alabama fan call in from Hamilton, a small town within throwing distance of Starkville. It was obvious from the caller's grammar and vocabulary that he had never seen the inside of a classroom in Tuscaloosa — he would have been lucky to graduate from high school — yet with every breath he referred to the University of Alabama as "we". "Do ya thank we can win another championship next year, Paul?"

Back when Bear Bryant dominated the region, these double-widers were limited to houndstooth and bumper stickers. Now and then one of them would let his community know he had chosen to root for a winning program by writing a (heavily edited) letter to the local newspaper.
Thanks to SECN and the Internet, every bandwagon fan out there now has a forum, but the message hasn't changed: "I have nothing going on in my pathetic existence other than living vicariously through the success of others."

I always thought they would air more of the nonrevenue sports. Don't see any reason in keeping Sports Jerry Springer.

I've seen bits and pieces of his televised broadcast and I thought it was pretty good. It's perfect for SEC Network but I didn't realize it was so long. 4 hours? Geez. Maybe it would be better if it was just 2 hours.

It was three hours for about 20 years. Drive time radio.

The fourth hour was added when the SECN picked it up.

Speaking as someone who has been exposed to it since he had his first radio experience, I can tell you the show didn't pull punches. Finebaum had been an exellent interviewer and investigative reporter for the newspapers, and that carried over into radio.

He could get almost any interview, and made important connections throughout the conference. He was far ahead of other news outlets on breaking news all over the SEC, but especially in Alabama.

He was also a showman. He would troll the fans of the two state schools, and watch the sparks fly. It was good radio entertainment.

The biggest problem with the show is the TV format. They don't need that and it detracts from what could still be a quality show. It's also taken removed him completely from his role as an investigative reporter, and that lowers the quality of the current content.

Mizzou runs there own NBC station. I think it is the college in America to have a major network TV station. We have four alumni on Fox News several other on conservative TV and radio shows that includes Rush Limbaugh. We also have 3 or 4 anchors on CNN and 3 or 4 on ESPN. We also have many alumni in sports radio shows all over the south including Brad Sham who has been the voice of the Dallas Cowboys for 32 years.

Most posters think Mizzou does not bring much to the SEC, but we could make the SEC Network much better. The Paul Finebaum show makes fans of the SEC look and sound stupid.
