He's built champions and a coaching tree.

But, has he decided to go off script and rescue fallen coaches in his name?

I think Bama fans will look back on his decision this week and question everything they ever believed in.

He's either foolish or too arrogant to see it.

Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirt before a fall.

Let's wait until next week to continue this discussion.

Bama could win and Saban will look like an evil genius.

I think this is where your logic is skewed a bit. Nick Saban doesn't rescue fallen coaches, he hires the most qualified coaches he can find. So does everybody else. Just because a coach fails as a head coach, doesn't make him any less of a coordinator. It isn't a rescue he is after, it is a good coach. Which is exactly what he got.

for someone to mention god complex, you sure speak like someone who thinks they're important enough to have one..

I hope Clemson wins but it seems if I ever talk shite about Bama or Saban it just blows up in my face.

Not really. Kiffin's mind clearly wasn't in the last game. No reason for anyone to believe that would change next week. The man has another full time coaching gig, and there's not much chance Jalen Hurts will suddenly turn into a passing threat.

Most Bama fans realize that there is a distinct possibility this game could be lost regardless of the OC. It's the first championship game I've felt that way about since 1/2/93.

With all this praising Clemson and talking about how great they are I wouldn't be shocked if Alabama didn't beat the hell out of them.

I'm actually more worried about the OC position next year. Sark has to manage to stay completely clean for another solid year. That's not an easy thing for a guy who used to routinely show up drunk at work.

All craziness aside.

shite talk included.

I thought Sark had some kind of tag on him regarding coaching?

Is it that he can't directly coach players face to face? Even that seems weird, but I think I heard it somewhere.

Whatever, seems strange to me to make moves like this before the big game, but my name isn't Nick Saban, so what the hell do I know?

He was only on staff as a consultant, which the NCAA doesn't allow to be a game coach. He's got the OC title now, so the reins are off.

Still confused.

Is he a game coach or a consultant for the NC game?

Seriously? He's getting former head coaches to take assistant, assistant to assistant, and secretarial staff level jobs in the program. It never occurred to me that anyone would be stupid enough not to see how extraordinarily effective that has been for building a dominant program.

He WAS a consultant. He is NOW a coach. What's hard to understand?
