Says his grandma hit a hole in one at 80. He also said if he can hold, then he should be able to coach till 80

Good lord, if he stays 16 more years he'll probably have 8 national championships at Bama alone before he goes down to his vacation home of fire and brimstone.

You know, to be honest, I hope Les wins a NC somewhere in between all there because I want him to still be able to do things like this for 16 more years:

No. To much stress to last that long.

I doubt he stays at Bama that long honestly. Bama is not an easy place to coach like Florida. Expectations are insane. Has to weigh on you all the time.

Florida is an easier place to coach, but the expectations there are also insane. You've got the largest fair-weather fanbase in America and the coach has to keep them happy.

Oregon and Alabama have the largest non Alumni fan bases.

So I think they qualify. Add in Florida went over 30 years selling out every game before Muschamp, so comment is pretty dumb.

He is losing it... just said on the radio (ESPN sneak peek) that he has won 4 NC in 8 years...

bullshite, half of your fanbase has become FSU fans.

Face it, your fanbase sucks in every conceivable fashion.

You may be the least knowledgeable person on the Rant. That's saying a lot. When you are done being an idiot, then talk to me. Is every Tennessee fan an idiot, or just the ones on this site?

I'll be happy if we have him for another five years. Pretty sure that Bear was 69 when he coached his last season, Saban would be the same age.

Of course, I'd be stoked if he stayed 16 more but that ain't happening.

Nope. Meyer will make his arse quit. Meyer will then take over Bama, go undefeated heading into the Iron Bowl in his first season, and leave Bama hanging to take the Texas job. He'll then leak incriminating photos of Patterson, using it as an excuse to jump ship to USCw after Sark drinks himself out of the job. In his first year at USCw, he'll lead the Trojans to a promising season until they play Notre Dame, during the halftime of which game Brian Kelly will go missing and Meyer will emerge as Father Meyer, Director of God's Preferred Activity.

Doubt it. Game has already passed him by.

I hope not. I don't want a Bowden or Paterno situation. When he can no longer do the job as well as someone else could, it's time to retire. Don't force the school to be in that situation where you are still around simply for the clout you have earned.

Now that's a load of shite. I realize boosters and the like have a lot of influence on the AD, but the general fan base that goes to games and isn't an alumnus has a huge influence at Alabama.

First you've presented no stats to back up your claim and second, that statement is flat out dumb. The general consensus at least on this board is that Bama fans are sidewalk fans and not fair weather ones. You think all those people who aren't alumni are gonna switch fanbases as much as a Florida native would be inclined to? No.

I don't have stats to back up that claim but you can just look back at the last couple of years and see these people are crazy about Alabama. They aren't gonna jump ship as easily as you think.

Nick Saban would bring the same expectations anywhere he went whether he wanted to or not. No one would pay the man his salary to do anything less. He's the architect of the winning machine that has created those expectations. Do you think any other school would pay him his salary with expectations less than what he has done at Bama?
