He will break that before the Ole Miss game without a doubt. 250 vs wku, 160 vs bama, 275 vs arky.

Got to avg 138 to break it in 11 games. That's gonna be pretty tight, but he'll definitely break it after two more games.

yea, and instead of a yes or no, you had to have a disclaimer in your answer

Too lazy to research. I wonder how many cupcake games walker played that year. If LF doesn't break it in 11 games part of me hopes he doesn't get it. If he does it after playing 11 games I'd consider it an apples to oranges record.

They played:

Tennessee (8-4, 3-3)
California (2-9, 2-6)
South Carolina (6-6, In.)
Ole Miss (4-6, 1-4)
Vandy (4-7, 1-5)
Kentucky (3-8, 2-4)
Temple (5-5, In.)
Florida (7-5, 3-3)
Auburn (5-6, 2-4)
Georgia Tech (1-10, In.)
#4 Pittsburg (11-1, In.)

So much football left but he's going to get awfully close to a bunch of records in November.

it's probably more valuable to look at total number of carries, right?

Of course it would but these are UGA fans.

Considering Walker did his in 11 games and LF will have potentially 14 I'd say he could probably do it.

If he averages 150 a game, he'll break the record in only 11 games with far fewer carries.

Trying to compare stats from players who played 35 years apart seems silly.

Fournette is having a tremendously impressive season and should break the record. The pissing contest is dumb.

10/24: Western Kentucky - 172.7 ypg allowed
11/07: @ Alabama - 70.9 ypg allowed
11/14: Arkansas - 107 ypg allowed
11/21: @ Ole Miss - 130 ypg allowed
11/28: Texas A&M - 195 ypg allowed

He needs 689 yards, those allowed averages add up to 676, and he averages 200 per game. Soooo I say he gets it!

I'm actually surprised the record has lasted this long.

Fournette is at 337 carries for his career.

I guess I'm just in awe of how many times Herschel carried the ball in that one season, and over his career. Dude was a beast. He had over 1000 touches including receptions in 3 seasons.

And he still looks like he is chiseled out of rock.

Georgia had 7 passing yards on one completion in the Sugar Bowl win over ND.

Belue was 1/12 on the day.

That is literally the only point in documenting records.

It's not a pissing contest, it's discussing the potential for a long-held record being broken. No need to be defensive about it.

Fournette has 1202 yds on 150 carries (8.01 ypc) he needs to average 114.83 yds/game to break the record.

he'll need to average more than 114.83 because he still has to go against the Arkansas defense that held him to 9 total yards.

Same here. McFadden would have likely gotten it if not for Felix Jones.

He may get enough yards to break the record against A&M alone.
