Hell NO.

Johnny Football won the Heisman Trophy as a Freshman. Until kenny Trill wins something other than one game, he doesnt devalue a damn thing.

In the eyes of some it will but who cares? JFF ain't giving back his Heisman or his NFL checks.

KH was a highly rated championship QB that played in the exact same system in HS though, it really shouldn't be surprising that he is being successful. JFF also had some really nice talent around him but it looks like the folks around KH are just ridiculous. Sumlin is also a great QB developer.

Johnny is still a unique player with his pass/run ability and attitude. Hard to beat for shear entertainment because you never knew what you would see. KH is more like surgeon who methodically goes about his business.

If JFF has any thought of a defense they would have been a threat to win it all last season. You cannot win games when your defense gets beat that bad week after week. His defense devalued what he did at QB last season. There isnt enough on K Hill to make any real call as to how good hes going to be. We'll find out how good that USC defense really is when they play UGA.

Johnny = Manu Ginobili in his prime

Kenny = Tim Duncan

I see how he got to 8. We were "too scared" to play Texas each year, which in his mind is two more losses.

Does this possibly mean Manziel's success is credited more to the system and Sumlin

I don't think there is any question. Accolades have been completely shifted from Manziel to Sumlin. I am not even going to call Manziel by his silly nick name anymore.

Maybe...

We are just glad he isn't the next Anthony Jennings.

You better be, because y'all sure as hell don't have a defense like LSU to make up for it.

Yeah, as an outsider (LSU fan) I think it does.

No matter how chaotic a Manziel highlight film might be, you could always point to his production. He put up a lot of numbers on SEC competition (LSU excluded), and that gave the impression that A&M rode Manziel to victories and potent offensive stats. I think that got him drafted as high as he was.

Now, a small sample of post-Manziel has appeared, and you get the opposite impression- Manziel rode A&M (specifically Sumlin's system).

I think an announcer for the game brought up this question, when he asked if Cleveland might be rethinking drafting Manziel (was late in the 1st half).

Admittedly, I am no expert, but this seems like a a silly question.

Talent can be developed, but not created. Also as someone stated earlier, aTm losses were not due to offensive break downs. If a QB is not great, the system will not be great. No matter how great a QB is, they can't win games alone.

It's the system. And, to say JFF wasn't running Sumlin's system while playing for Sumlin is foolish to say.

Are you serious? Pretty obvious that JFF ad-libbed a LOT. Hell, many of his trademark highlight reels came on broken plays or not going fully through his progressions.

Not a foolish thing to say at all that JFF didn't really run Sumlin's offense the way it was designed.
