Ok. I think motion makes you reset for a period of time. One second? But I could see the defense needing a sub if the motion or formation change creates for an advantage for the offense.

otherwise you guys are just using a loophole in a rule to mask your talent deficiencies.

That's a pretty broad stroke to paint isn't it? Football is great because people can run all kind's of different offenses and systems. You might think AJ McCarron was more "talented" than Nick Marshall because he is a better passer, but there's no way I would've taken him over Marshall for what Auburn does.

Can we at least get the bammers to admit they are jealous that Gus has been successful in multiple levels of the sport? It's okay, we get it, YOU JELLY...

Never won a National Title

Only SEC coach to ever lose a BCS Title game to a none-SEC team

Don't really care about this issue but I just read through three pages of this thread just totally mesmerized by this Tampa character. He is totally losing his shite over this, but keeps checking back in to claim he is laughing at the stupid bammers. Dude, you are not laughing and I think you need a timeout from this issue. You are taking this very personally.

Bull shite. The HUNH is the offensive counterpunch to over specialization. And Saban doesn't like that there's no easy defensive counter. Sucks for him but it's entertaining as hell.

If I were Mizzou, I wouldnt like it either. Didnt Auburn have about 2000 yards on your team's pathetic defense? At least Alabama played respectably against Auburn.

bammers falling over themselves to defend what the whole country knows was a selfish attempt at a coach to pass a rule for his own benefit - and lying about it and saying it was safety.

This really says it all in a nutshell. Saban could say the sky was green and his brainwashed fanbase would go outside and check.

It is easy to expect less from you Auburn fans but lets stop with the cute stuff. This rule is precisely to stop the cheap snapping the ball when teams are running guys off on 3rd down type plays. That is really all it is about.

which is why the rule shouldn't go into effect.. it's purely designed to inhibit the hurry up teams from playing their game

whiney counts

You need to learn the difference between "shift" and "motion"....here's a hint: they aren't the same

oops. sorry.

I meant shift.

I know if they stay in motion you can snap it, but in Canada you can move toward the line and 2 guys can motion at the same time- sort of like the defense can move a bunch pre-snap.

Maybe we should look north for new rules.

There is a way to compromise on this whole issue. The ref spots the ball, stands over it for 8 seconds, then backs off and whistles for play (which would about be about an extra 2 seconds). Upon whistle revert back to 25 second clock and offense can snap at anytime. This should allow for a good pace but also enough time for substitution.

I'll watch the games whether thay change the rules or not. However, all coaches should have the same access to committee work that impacts the game. The rules making process should be open.

I do find it odd that Coach Saban loses a couple of close games (the OU game was close until the fumble return late) and feels the need to change the rules.

CNS recruits great players and certainly has a Hall of Fame worthy career. It makes no sense for him to make this proposal. I think Coach Stallings said it best. Make a stop and pace won't matter.

Interesting approach but personally I am for leaving things as they are.

I would be in favor of this.

They did, but you don't hear Missouri fans whining about it or supporting legislation to do our dirty work.

Auburn earned my grudging respect. If Pinkel can't stop them it's his failing - as it is Saban's.

New respect for Mizz fans, less for Saban and bama fans.
