Can he recruit that is the major question especially in Texas? When Arkansas was at it's best under Broyles and Holtz they used to get alot of talent out of Texas.

No reason to be scared.

But I do like the potential that Bielema brings to Ark.

He should greatly improve our defense, and hopefully he brings in a top notch offensive coordinator. I think Ark will give him the finances to entice a good OC.

I'm excited and don't care if LSU fans are happy, scared, or whatever.

I just hope we give him the finances to put together a top notch staff.

We go on all the time about howmuch the Big 10 sucks and nowthe Pigs want us to believe winning that shite is impressive.

Funniest shite I've read all week. You can see the skid marks where that fanbase slammed onthe brakes and threw it into "zBig 10 is legit" gear.

Exactly, LSU fans are so fricking stupid for comparing previous conference records and shite.

Their own damn Head Coach was awful in the Big 12 and turned out just fine.

You would think they'd understand, but nope.

I think you guys conveniently left out a few things while making your comparisons.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys only had one winning season from 1989 to 2001. In addition, the Cowboys had only one bowl game appearance between 1988 and 2000. A 1997 Alamo Bowl loss to Purdue.

In his first year, Miles would achieve a 4–7 record. In 2002, Miles would post a 7–5 regular season record. The team would go on to three straight bowl games in Miles's last three years as head coach and when Miles left in 2004 to take the LSU job.

Bielema took over at Wisconsin for Barry Alvarez who had gone 8-6, 7-6, and 9-3 in the previous 3 seasons and had the program already moving in the right direction.

Yeah, 4-4 in the Big 10 has me shaking in my boots.

Meyer came in year 1 under probation and went undefeated. That's all that needs to really be said.

Yeah...Jeff Long.

Apparently Bielema could teach Petrino a thing or two about being a horn dog.

This. I am looking forward to them getting the 10 in the box stuffed treatment.

As an aside, this guy is a POS classless

We just took the coach of the big 10 champs. I'd say at the bare minimum he deserves the benefit of the doubt that he'll be at least as good as houston nutt. Which means going to atlanta 3 out of every 10 years.

I like that he is only 42 years old. His best years are in front of him. He is young and energetic and ready for the challenge that is the SEC. CBB is an incredibly fiery guy similar to Saban, Spurrier, and Muschamp. I think if we give him time to build the program he could do great things here.

I'm only scared of Arkansas when they are coached by Houston Nutt. So I'll go with no.

Does Bielema at ARK scare anyone?
The best year he had was the first year in 06 when he got the keys to the Corvette and went 12-1 after Alvarez left.

In 7 seasons, this happened:

* 5-3 in conf. in 07
* 3-5 in conf. in 08
* 5-3 in conf. in 09
* Had two decent years, but dropped the ball completely and lost both BCS bowls
* 4-4 in conf. in 12

They're going to the Rose bowl because Ohio St wasn't eligible.

All I can do is sigh in relief. Big downgrade from Petrino. Can't recruit, either.

Ok, let me try this. Equivalent for Les Miles time at LSU.

Had a good first few years with Saban's players, then did this:

3-5 in conf in 08
5-3 in conf in 09
6-2 in conf in 10
Had a good year, but I am not gonna type the record cause it will make my post look stupid, but failed to cross the 50 in his bowl game
6-2 in conference in 12

They are going to the chicken bowl because they didn't earn anything better than the 7th best SEC bowl

There, how is that, and that is basically during the most successful period in your schools history.

Oh, and he also is 3-3 in the last 6 games against Arkansas.

Does Les Miles scare anyone?

The obvious response to this is the recruiting advantages LSU has over Arky.

Even if Mongo is a better coach than Les the difference in athletes is pretty dramatic. Mongo will have to be a much better coach than Les to beat LSU consistently.

Answer to the OP's question: No, I seriously doubt he scares anyone in the league. Most of the league is probably looking at him as fresh meat.

Even if he does implement a winning system, he'll almost completely have to overhaul the Razorbacks and fill needs with players that fit his scheme. And that'll take a few years to really put into place.

"Does Les Miles scare anyone? "

SEC Titles for Miles = 2. SEC Titles for Arkansas = 0.

I would say people are more scared of him than anyone Arkansas has, has had, or will have.
