I felt the same way watching Stallings offenses at Bama. We won a lot of games but 13-10 contests sucked a lot of the fun away.

The man was 70-16-1 at Alabama. I'll bet you were longing for him after watching the shite storm that followed his leaving.

I know what you are saying. High expectations limit the joy of a win and exacerbate a loss.

It gives me the highest highs and the lowest lows. Overall, on a scale of -100 (unhappy) to 100 (happy) I would say being a UGA football fan nets me about 3 happiness.

If we had gone 11-1 that would be one thing. But 8-4 with that offense was just miserable.

It just kills you to be that emotionally invested and I'm not.

College Football definitely is my passion, for me it's all about your expectations for your team annually. This year it was a joy to see the defense improve from one of the worst in the country to start the season to finish as the number one ranked defense in the SEC.

As for the offense, it was hard each week knowing the defense had to pretty much pitch a shutout in order to have a punchers chance to win a game. Now at the end of the season, we see in the A&M game what the offense should be like going forward.

So 2015 should be higher expectations and a run at a playoff birth next season. This season LSU were out of the running by October, next year LSU should be in the running going into the Bama game.

That's too bad for you. I guess you have to use old clips of Fulmer and Peyton to lay it down then. Just as long as it wasn't against Florida of course

It's even worse because in reality only Bama, AU, LSU, Oregon, FSU, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, and a few others will ever achieve more than that, outside of a once in 20 year miracle run.

May sound strange, but I've had more fun the past two years even though LSU was not in the NC hunt. During the years when they have a legit shot each week is more of a worry about losing than enjoying the game. Take the 2011 year for example, even when they'd win I'd find myself worrying about the next game because of something I saw as a flaw and that the next team might exploit. No doubt, I want another NC, but I've definitely been way more relaxed and actually enjoyed the season this year.

There have been studies that show increased testosterone when your team wins, and low T when it loses. Science!
