I'm not saying shady shite doesn't go down at all schools, but none of the schools are doing shite this blatant, with a no fricks given attitude. LSU's been getting good players for a long time, thanks to the state of Louisiana. Alabama gets good players because they are Alabama. Florida lives in a talent rich state, etc...

So when Ole Miss starts getting 5 stars out their arse, stealing recruits away from Georgia, Bama, LSU and all the other big schools, what the frick did you guys think was going to happen?

There is a reason Ole Miss is Ole Miss. They live in a shitty state, talent in that state gets destroyed by all the other schools that can actually compete in football. Oh and you guys are racist as frick, You have all this shite going against you.

and all you guys can say is " but bama cheats too!!!!!"

This exact thing? I can 100% say Auburn is not. We had our colonoscopy. All the shady benefits we pull off we don't have coaches involved.

Meh, as a state fan, MS has just about more athletes per capita go to the NFL than any other state.. but to your main point you're right, especially Hugh Freeze coming in as a high school women's bball coach and pulling the top 5 recruiting classes in the nation consecutively doesn't add up

Yes. What makes OM different isn't the level of cheating, but the level of expectations prior. It gives the NCAA more impetus to investigate thoroughly because they have an easier time singling out a few 4 & 5 stars at OM and investigating them than they would in the glut of 4 & 5 stars at the Big 6 universities. You make the mistake of assuming that just because talent is available, the boosters at major programs have less incentive. These programs are still competing with each other for talent. UF has fertile grounds...that Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Miami, FSU, etc are all getting involved in. You can't just say, "I'm here from UF, you lucky-son-of-a-bitch." You have to sell yourself against other major powers to get the recruit. (I'm not picking on UF. They're just an easy example. All programs have to do this.)

Yes. Every team in the nation has boosters that pays player period. If you don't believe this, then you're lost.

Not what he asked.

How many schools do you think have coaches arranging the shady business? I say very, very little.

What constitutes a "shitty" state?

What's the criteria?

If you're going by GDP and insolvency, every state in the SEC is a shithole, sans Texas and Florida.

Mississippi (#1), Alabama (#3), Louisiana (#2) and Tennessee (#5) are four of the worst dependent on federal assistance.

To me, that constitutes shitty.

Seems like ole miss boosters have too much direct contact with players at Ole Miss.

Heck the entire town gives off a Friday night lights/Buddy Garrity vibe as soon as you drive in it

Simple: Your team's rival's state. If it's your in-state rival, then their county is the shitty part.

This is how tRant works.

I have no idea. That has no bearing on my point though. Try reading the entire thing again, maybe a third time, and you might understand the point.

You may want to try re-reading the OP again as well, as it seems the point may have escaped you there as well.

Well, the whole "B-b-but the Barn and the Bammers are doing it too!!" thing smacks of a last-ditch effort for some of these guys to make themselves feel better about the fact that their football program is about to get sucked into the whirling vortex of death.

Oh absolutely. I know Auburn gives players benefits. I know Bama does as well. I know how both do some of the more minor things. The difference is that our programs aren't arranging it. Our coaches aren't involved.

And the most important difference: our teams aren't the ones about to get aced for cheating. Our teams aren't the topic of conversation.

Our teams, in this context, are a defocus from the issue at hand.

$100 handshakes & dinners from boosters happen at 99.99% of schools.

It is 50/50 on Booster giving cars and/or substantial cash.

Very few have it institutionalized through university employees like Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Baylor.
