There was actually a 3 way tie in 03 between Florida/Georgia/Tennessee.

Auburn in the SEC East?

Can't happen unless Alabama goes, too. They can't have two perennial opponents from the East, and the twelve people who still care about the Third Saturday in October won't stand for breaking that up.

Don't forget Kentucky also has their ACC in-state partner with Louisville.

Swap Auburn with Tennessee. Problem solved.

The issue is mostly Auburn for Mizz..

All we continue to hear is how much weaker the East is than the West. Whatever move might be made, it doesn't seem that taking the 4th (or 5th) best team from the West and moving them to the East would really help with these issues would it? This seems like a desperate plea from Aubie to play Vandy more... you guys own that series right? Wait... 0 for the last 2 and Vandy has the series lead by 1? Nevermind. That can't be it.

I loved our rivalry with Auburn. We had some great games in the 80's and 90's.

Actually we had great games in the 1960s and 70s. One I remember is when Spurrier led team beat them in 1964 at home with a Dick Kirk 88 yd interception (from memory)...Kirk also played RB in those days of platoon football...the year before he ran the ball about 40 yds to help us upset 3rd ranked Bama 10-6. In 1965 we went to the loveliest village on the plains and got upset 28-17 in a misleading score...AU score late in the game off a desperation interception or fumble trick play after AU had a kid Alex Bowden come off the bench and throw about a 60 yd + pass to take lead late 21-17. We could never win at AU and they rarely beat us at Florida Field.

The infamous library fire game at AU when the Gators I believe were ranked # 1 in 2001, Spurrier's last year as HC...AU was a decided underdog and game was on ESPN at night....It was very very windy that night..steady winds of 30mph with gust up to 45 or 50 mph. AU brought their defense and we were without RB Ernest Graham who was injured and Rex Grossman kept firing long downfield ducks into the wind and the AU defense looked like punt returners catching those picks. Spurrier refused to stop throwing long and it cost us. On TV you could see the fire engulfing the library and Spurrier later quipped that they lost three books and two of them hadnt even been colored in yet.

SEC WON'T split Vandy/TN anymore than they'll split Ala./Aub. nor Miss./MSU.

Auburn is setting up as an Auto Win for the next decade or so. For purely selfish reasons, I want them to stay in the west.

Why would we want water down the East more by adding another team like UT? Pass.

That was against LSU

The 2001 game was in like a tornado. I watched the game at this spot called Jillian's in Nashville. Great game

Auburn should move to the Atlantic Division, so it's annual game with Clemson will matter in the standings.

Move Mizzou and UK then. With UA & AU in the East you can get rid of the cross-division rivals since the Iron Bowl and TSIO would stay intact.

Can keep an 8 game schedule. 6 in division, 2 rotating cross division. Would rotate through the other division in 4 years.

That said, I'm still in favor of going to 9 games. UF/UGA/UK/USC can all use their OOC rivalry as their one P5 game.

This was already reviewed. Bama wants to keep you in the West.

I could get behind that (Mizz./UK for Ala./Aub.).

& a full H/H rotation in 7 yrs..
However, I still think everybody's going to 16 & pods soon.

Put us in the East, West, North, South... The truth is we don't care. Just keep sending the checks to the correct address and giving us our free division football title every other year.
