There's some good pitching but look at the number of fly outs for all the teams. It's got to be off the chart from previous years.
When was the last time you heard people talk about fastballs up in the zone down the middle being an effective pitching technique?
Looks like if you have a decent pitcher and 3 good outfielders you can make the field of play from the back edge of the infield dirt and in.
It's not just homeruns, but those show up easier in the stats.

Have we not been down late in both of our games?
apparently no 9th inning comeback in the new park

I'd be ok with them changing the balls to get an extra 5-10 feet. That's the easiest measure to take to "fix" it to an extent.
That won't have much of an impact. If balls can't be hit over the cf wall something is wrong.

It sucks large donkey balls, worst ever.

Yes it's kind of boring with the lack of offense. Of course, I feel that way about most sports. For instance, that first game of the century a couple of years ago I thought was boring as hell but a lot of folks here thought it was fantastic.

It would help if they didn't spread the games out so much. There shouldn't be only one game per day until the championship series.
If I had my way the games would be 7 innings and the bats would be a little hotter.

At one point last night Conforto for OSU was 7-11 at the CWS.....he did it by getting his hands above the ball and hitting line drives.
Ty Ross did this once, Jacoby did it once.....LSU's problem was that Rhymes, Bregman, nor Ibarra could figure it out at this tourney.

i missed his other 6 hits but the double i saw him get last night was a blooper

I've got to admit, the NBA Finals pulled me away from the CWS, even when Spurs and LSU were playing at the same time...

So you are telling me that there are areas in TD AMeritrade that outfielders can't get to

Aren't all CWS boring?

Yet if LSU was still in the running this CWS would be the most awesome thing going.... kill the dead aluminum, give them wood or gorilla ball bats...

It is stupid....nobody wants to talk about the fact that we swung and missed on Sunday at mostly letter to eye high pitches with an umpire that had a low strike zone. Nola wasn't getting some calls at the belt. Yet we aren't talking about the fact that we swung at mostly pitches that would have been called balls we are talking about the fact that TD Ameritrade is too big and the bats are too dead.
It really pisses me off TBH. I've said it before and I'll say it again I really dislike my brethren sometimes (LSU fans that is not my real sister )

Would the ball travel further off a wooden bat than these dead aluminum bats?
This has been touched on but the current set up is a way to pitcher friendly. Pitchers can make a mistake, the batter can get get a great swing on the ball and its a long fly out instead of a HR. There's no penalty for the pitcher for the bad pitch by having a HR hit.

I agree... This is the worst CWS I can remember in my lifetime... Can't quite put my finger on what has made it so unbearable....

Yes. Even the LSU games were boring.
The new ballpark sucks. Bring back Rosenblatt.
Other than LSU's CWS championships - my favorite CWS was when Fresno St won it.

This year particularly. This one has been as boring as a college football spring game.

No. I'm LSU and found LSU's games boring.

I just miss the days when a 1 or 2 run lead wasn't practically insurmountable.
It's almost as if whoever scores first wins. What they have done to the bats has ruined what made college baseball fun and exciting. I am not for bringing back the old bats, but something should be done to allow more mistakes by pitchers to actually leave the yard. When no one has hit a homerun to center field, something is seriously wrong. That being said, Geaux State!!!!
