At first glance, I think I'd be ok with them changing the balls to get an extra 5-10 feet. That's the easiest measure to take to "fix" it to an extent.

This is all I'm hoping for.

State somehow manages to have interesting games. Back and forth lead changes. Then they take the lead in the 8th and threaten to blow it in the 9th before pulling it out.

No this is on PM. I don't care how much you depend on the big hits, everyone knew the field they were playing on before the season. Playing "small ball" (I hate this term) is essentially playing the game the way it was intended to be. Bunting, stealing, hit and run, an intelligent opportunistic base running are fundamentals. LSU should be able to do that as well as anybody in the series. These ball park too large arguments are silly and the dead bats are silly. Half if not more of these guys will be using wooden bats in Year or two. Whatever happened to directional hitting an sacrificing. LSU was successful because guys like Ibarra(sp) were known for their defensive play and being average hitters. They were overacheiving at the plate and hit a slump. It happens welcome to baseball. Think of it like this when the braves had all of those great pitchers and were winning close games no one said it was boring it was just great baseball.

The problem is that almost everyone's pitchers are throwing shutout/near-shutout performances. Pitching this year at the CWS appears significantly skewed; you just don't have this many top-flight performances. 1-0 / 2-1 / 3-2 games shouldn't be the norm in a baseball game.

This is what's called a false dichotomy.

I don't understand this line of thinking. I like watching this brand of baseball. Station to station baseball and small ball is fun to watch. It's the way the game should be played IMO.

I like home runs too, but it seems some are obsessed with it. This CWS hasn't been boring to me. Good baseball except for some o the sloppy errors.

I love college baseball but the new bats have taken out so much excitement.

And I think the new bats have brought the game closer.to what it was originally intended to be, but I don't use oversized drive heads either.

It's not even the 1-0 or 2-1 games. It's the total lack of an outfield hit. Everyone is getting on base via an error or a bloop and then bunt bunt bunt. I like an occasional bunt but I've seen more bunts since Saturday than probably the last 5 years or more.

Hell, even the games the past few years were better than this year. Don't even have to go back to gorilla ball for me. The years that South Carolina won and Fresno St won were much better than this year.

Yes. Even as an LSU fan, our games were highly boring for a large portion. I love a good pitchers duel, but that isn't what were seeing. With today's bats in this park, pitchers are actually rewarded by making mistakes and throwing it down the middle, rather than working corners.

I didn't know the CWS was currently ongoing until you posted this.

These bats have been around for 3 years. Why so much bitching at this year's CWS? Haven't seen this much bitching for the last 2 years on the rant. Wonder why?

Yes, I find this CWS boring.

I've not decided, yet, if this year's team's are that loaded with excellent pitching or if there are not many good hitters out there (with runners of base), or if the combo of the bbcor bats and the ballpark have just ruined the offensive production in the CWS altogether.
