The NBA has almost completely lost their thug image of the early 2000's. There aren't really any drug issues or arrest issues in the NBA at all right now.

The NBA has pretty sparkly clean image right now.

Kobe is an 80/90s player in the modern world. I just wish he could go out on top.

Kevin Durant is scoring at a 30+ point clip almost every night while shooting 50% from the field, 40% from 3, and 90% from the free throw line. Do you not understand how outrageous that is.

LeBron is playing at somewhat nearly impossible level with his PER rating. He has been shooting an outrageously high percent from the field the last 2 years.

I'm not disagreeing that it isn't that good, but I'll still watch.

I played basketball for 20 years, I liked CBB and the NBA as much as football in the 70s but basketball has prostituted itself in the last 30 years.

It started with the NBA where the STAR SYSTEM was deemed more important than the integrity of the game, all because Bird & Magic made the game so popular, not their failt of course, they played team ball, but the NBA made stars out of certain players deemed to be STAR WORTY.

The allowed 3 or 4 steps, pushing off to get a shot, carrying in every play and the put a srupid SEMI CIRCLE in the lane to protect Shaq. The emphasized the STAR over the TEAM so now instead of team ball whete you cut and move we have dummies dribbling all around looking to force their way to the basket by running over someone and getting free throws.

They are clueless af blocking out, shoot stupid 3 ppint shots with 25 se cibds left in the clock etc etc.

Allen Iverson was considered a great player, but shot 37 percent to hit his 30 points a game average.

Basketball is shyt, and football with all the BS Goodel and the NCAA is instituting is becoming the same thing.

Can hit a WR or QB, QB can thriw the ball away outside the pocket,HOLDING IS BLATANT on every play, offenses are given every advantages to the point the NFL is nothing but a pass league.

This is why I love soccer, they don't change the ruled OR PIMP THE GAME FOR MONEY.

That is what MLB did also.

This is why the college football playoff is going to destroy the college football regualar season.

Now instead of last year's iron bowl being for all the marbles, both teams get into a playoff with a chance for the title.

I hate the fact that we are doing away with the BCS, it makes the regular season so exciting. Do we really want 8 and 16 team playoffs where even teams with 2 losses have a shot for the title??

Want to know how you haven't watched basketball in 15+ years.

I think it is the best sport ever. I went to the only 4A HS in the state of Alabama that didn't have a football team so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. I'm not a fan of the new rules and the influence AAU has had in the style of play but I still prefer college basketball over any sport at any level.

Rick Berry on Lebron James in 2011.

"His shot, first and foremost, because I think that's where it all comes down to. If you don't have confidence in your shot, it destroys the rest of your game...Then, little nuances, facing up, learning how to be the guy learning to use your first dribble to go by instead of everything off the dribble...learning how to use screens probably, then of course the coach running more plays for him where he can run off double and triple staggered screens, learning to curl it properly, learning how to do the little things in the game which, unfortunately, have not been taught to him, which I don't blame him for. I blame the people who have coached him over the years. To have a talent like this and to not maximize the full potential of this talent is inexcusable and reprehensible to me and the coaches who have had him should be ashamed of themselves."

Durant is good. It's a shame we couldn't watch him play NCAA basketball for more than 1 season.

That quote on LeBron just shows how little of his game you have watched the past couple of years. He is on pace to be only the 2nd player in NBA history to average 25 points while shooting 60%. I hate the guy, but to sell him short like you are is outrageous.

Its funny that many old southern white dudes view basketball as a thug/lower class game, when in the majority of the country, that's how football is viewed, not basketball. I think that's really why many here don't like basketball.

The NBA is filled with more fake tough guys now then real tough guys. Anyone who actually pays attention realizes the thug image is gone.

I loathe the game play in basketball. The fouls and timeouts at the end of a game is infuriating. I hate baseball for the stepping out of the batter box and the attempted pickoffs of runners on base. Also, what happens in the first 3/4 of a basketball game rarely matters.

Honestly, I don't give a shite about it anymore.

I still watch our team and go to games occasionally, but its more like a braves game.

It is just something on in the background and I never get very excited about it either way.

Edit: I suspect this is how Kentucky fans view football, but who knows.

it isn't difficult to shoot 60% when you dunk the ball half the time. Berry was referring to his perimeter game. Stats don't tell the whole story. What is his % shooting beyond the 15-18ft range?
