Muschamps biggest problem is the lack of defensive recruiting the last few years before he got there. Malzahn stacks the shite out of his offensive class and neglects the defensive side of the ball.
I am all for letting Malzahn riding out his contract if he isn't doing well. The last thing we need at Auburn is to be paying another coach that isn't here. I really think Malzahn can really turn things around and learn from his mistakes.

May have set you back 2-3 years, but I doubt he even did that. You have a defense in place that may be the best in the SEC.
Now, if UF had gotten the NCAA death penalty under his watch, that would be different.

I think we signed 7 or 8 defensive recruits in the 2014 class and like 9 in the class before. Muschamp had to do a lot of making up for the lack of recruiting last year, hence the reason we are playing about 5 or 6 true freshman so far this year.

It was 9 in 2013 and like 11 in 2014. 7 may have been back in 2012.
It absolutely is. That is why I said that I think he can learn from his mistakes. My understanding was that Muschamp let it be known up front that he wanted control of the defense if he was coming back to Auburn so i would think that he has it. Muschamp will get our defense back but it is in major rebuilding mode and will take another year, especially if Adams and Lawson (I don't think he will leave) leave early this year.
